“Oh, okay. When will Mama and Daddy come over? Before or after the pizza? Did you know my daddy doesn’t eat food?” Teddy asked.

“Unless something changes, I think I’m dropping you off tomorrow morning. But yes, I did know your Daddy doesn’t eat food.” Amulius nodded.

“He drinks blood!” Ezra exclaimed, baring his teeth at Amulius for emphasis as though he was a vampire too.

“But not from people! He drinks from bags!” Teddy went on, though she didn’t quite get the concept obviously. She looked to Norah. “Did you know my daddy drinks blood?”

Norah bristled a bit at the sudden acknowledgement but nodded gently, caught off guard that Teddy would talk to her.

“Yeah, I don’t remember who told me though.” She replied bashfully.

“Maybe it was Rocko, he’s a loudmouth.” Teddy said, though it was obvious that she and Ezra has the louder mouths. “What does Uncle Lazlo eat? I bet it’s pumpkins and carrots since he’s so orange.”

Amulius threw his head back and laughed at the comment. The reference was lost on Norah though, confused as to why her Daddy was laughing so hard.

“Uh he eats a lot of pizza and sandwiches, there’s a food truck by our house he really likes..” Norah answered.

“You know Teddy, Lazlo was born that orange because his dad ate pumpkins and carrots.” Amulius explained, still laughing a little.

“Really?” Teddy asked, eyes wide. “What did your daddy eat then to make you so long? Celery? String beans? Spaghetti?”

“Oh boy, uh, yeah. That’s what he ate.” Amulius chuckled.

“I heard he ate people.” Ezra said quietly, but with a sort of confidence. Because he knew something he wasn’t supposed to know.

“So do politicians and celebrities and musicians, but we don’t say it out loud. Sometimes it’s what we all know but don’t talk about, anyways, I’m not sure that’s something you should talk about to anyone.” Amulius explained.

The sounds of the water park could be heard by now, children screaming and laughing, music and water splashing. There were thicker droves of people, crowding and filing into the park. Amulius sort of encircled the trio in front of them, a hand on the back of Teddy so not to lose them. “Stay close, Ezra you run off I’m telling your abelua .”

“And she’ll spank your good, East.” Teddy said, chest puffed out as she felt like the ringleader of their group, with the exception of Uncle Amulius of course. “Rocko, you can’t run off either. You have to stay with Uncle Amulius because you’re a baby who can’t swim.”

Amulius paid their entry fee into the park and managed to find a spot near the kiddie pool with some fold out chairs. He began applying sunscreen to all the kids, making sure they were covered well.

“Okay, so Rocko you’re with me. We’re gonna hang here by the kiddie pool, Ezra, Teddy, Norah, you guys more or less have free reign. Don’t go too far, make sure where ever you go that you can see me, that means I can see you. If you need something, come over here and let me know. Play nice,” Amulius said, looking at Ezra who only grinned devilishly back. “And be careful, okay? No running and all that.” He explained.

Rocko whined at the notion of not being able to shadow his older siblings, but he was soon over it when he caught sight of a mess of floating toys by the pools edge. He tugged eagerly at Amulius’s hand.

“What should we do?” Teddy asked.

Ezra was already jogging ahead, despite Amulius and multiple lifeguards shouting at him.

“Teddy! Let’s go down the water slide!” Ezra yelled after his sister.

Norah expected that Teddy would follow after her twin and she would find her own thing to do to relax and pass the time. There was a swing set over sprinklers that looked like fun.

Teddy lurched a bit, wanting to go after her twin, but took a pause to look back at Norah. She didn't think she'd like the waterslides very much, after all, she was a baby. She turned back around and pattered after Ezra, reaching for his hand when she caught up.

"The big one last though!" She said, hurrying along with him.

Norah let the twins run off on their own, she was content playing by herself, although she was sure she’d have more fun if Nic was here. But she busied herself, kicking her feet around in the pool and playing on the swings that went over the sprinklers. After awhile she went and got a couple dollars from Amulius to get a snow cone. She was waiting in line at the diving board when some older kids brushed past her, knocking the last swig of her treat out of her hand.

“Hey! Excuse me!” Norah exclaimed.

The older kids ignored her, talking amongst themselves, cutting in front of her.

“Excuse me please!” Norah repeated louder.

“Shut up!” One of the boys exclaimed, he turned round quickly and pushed her down onto her bottom.
