It would be annoying to get his contacts pulled over to a new phone, but he could do it and call Spider, Stasi, and everyone else then. He reached over to his opposite pocket...only to turn it out empty as well. "I don't have my wallet."

Sayuri looked over her shoulder then, she wanted to make a quip. But as she had been planning their next moves, which was going to require travel. If they have no money, they’re going to be making all their moves on foot.

“I don’t think I need to tell you this, but I don’t have any money.” She said.

Sayuri was thoughtful for a moment before sliding again, back down the tiles. “We’re gonna have to get thrifty then…” she began, contemplating aloud. “The next safest place for you, would probably be the Russian or American embassy, everywhere else is owned by yakuza.” She explained.

"And where is that?" Sasha asked, scooting down as he followed Sayuri's lead. He cautiously craned his head to look over the ledge, noting the streets below becoming more crowded with suited men yelling distantly at each other.

“There is one in Kobe, but it’s closed right now. I don’t know why, I think they’re renovating the building maybe.” Sayuri said with a sigh, already exhausted by the idea of what they would have to do instead. “The other one is in Tokyo.” She added.

Sasha gaped, shocked, as he swiveled his head to look at Sayuri.

"Tokyo? That's halfway up the country." He said.

Sayuri offered a weak shrug, her own strategies being limited.

“Imagine how I feel, I’ll have to make the trek in platforms.” She began, checking again over the ledge of the roof. “If you have any other suggestions, I’d hear them.”

"Didn't I just buy you some sandals?" Sasha joked before letting out a little sigh. "Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions. I don't know the first thing about traversing this country. That's more your wheelhouse, so my fate is in your hands as of right now."

“Joe dressed me this morning, otherwise I would’ve definitely worn more practical footwear for all the walking we’re about to do.” Sayuri sighed, finding the strength to let out a little chuckle. The idea of walking from Kobe to Tokyo, did not sound that reasonable, but Sayuri supposed it was their best option; Sasha wouldn’t be safe anywhere else. “We’ll camp here until dark, the search parties should thin out; at least in the immediate area.” She explained.

"Alright, sounds like a plan to me." Sasha said, scooting back further from the edge. He gave Sayuri a good look over then, reaching over to rub the back of his finger over a bruise on her cheek. "He did this just because you were unaccounted for?" He asked.

Sayuri’s eyelashes fluttered, her guard lowering just a bit. Her adrenaline had all her senses in a flurry, the pain inflicted from her punishment had felt distant. But Sasha’s hand on her cheek, grounded her again in her reality. Despite it bringing her pain back to the surface, Sayuri did not pull away from his touch. It was nice, almost as nice as him holding her hand the night before; he was tender, for a mobster.

“Yes.” Sayuri said quietly. “I don’t heal like you, for some reason.”

“Is that what’s it like where you’re from? Are there lots of werewolves, eating people?” She asked then. It sounded sort of like a joke, but she was fairly serious. Sasha was the first werewolf she had ever met outside of herself, she had not context for what was normal.

"Oh, no, just my papa." Sasha chuckled with a little shake of his head. "They call him the Wolf of Moscow, he's been known to gobble people up for their betrayals. But me? I don't think it would settle well on my stomach."
