Stasi nodded at the server, indicating to add the appetizer to the order as she held up the menu to be taken away. As the server left, Stasi put her elbows onto the table and rested her cheeks into the palms of her hands. She looked like a cat who had gotten the cream as she looked across the table at Spider.

“So, we finally have a moment alone where you aren’t acting insane with anxiety, should we talk about Kobe?” She asked.

Spider leaned back in his own seat then, an arm casually resting on the back of his chair as he slouched back. Something about Spider, was that he acclimated quickly. Although Stas’s attitude was extremely grounding, it made it easy to carry himself more authentically.

“I resent that.” He began, brows arched. “What specifically, your cousin going missing? The shootout, the thing you did with your hairpin?” Spider suggested, once again feigning ignorance. It was what little leverage he had in the way that he assumed it would annoy her.

Stasi maintained her grin, liking the game Spider was trying to play.

“I was thinking more about that thing you did with your mouth.” She quipped.

Spider did his best to not appear disarmed, which was difficult since he clearly wore his feelings on his sleeve very obviously. He wasn’t sure why he was surprised though, Stasi continued to be a very direct person.

“That was…inappropriate , on my part.” Spider began, doing his best to use corporate vernacular. On paper, it seemed very clear that he had taken advantage of his younger work associate. It was inappropriate, even if it was consensual. If it were to ever happen again, it would have to be under different circumstances. “I’ll be on my best behavior.” He decided aloud. [/b]

Stasi balked in laughter at Spider’s seriousness, throwing her head back with the force of it.

“If that was bad behavior on your part, I’d love to see you at your worst then.” She said, just as a hot pot of tea was brought out to their table. The server poured Stasi a cup, but before they could pour Spider’s, she waved them off and reached for the pot to pour for him.

Spiders cheeks pinked then, in tandem with the tips of his ears. This time, it was because he immediately began to consider what his worse was. Spider had a good recollection of that night, and even in the height of his drunken stupor. He did a lot of things, but not everything he could have done.

“You don’t have to do that.” He said then, when she began to pour his tea.

“No, but I want to.” Stasi said as she poured the tea. She set the pot aside and reached for her own cup. “Besides, I figure if I serve you, you’ll actually eat and drink whatever I put in front of you out of obligation. I don’t like eating and drinking alone.” Stasi smirked cheekily then as she brought her cup to her lips.

She was right about that. By his own rules alone, it would be rude not to. If it were an actual order? He could lose a hand if he denied it. It should’ve ended that way with losing Sasha, but he could be punished for less if Stasi deemed it so. He reached to pick up the cup, he raised it and offered her a nod of acknowledgment, she was right and it was one battle she has already one. He took a sip. He didn’t drink a lot of tea, it felt indulgent in the way most self care things did. When bringing the cup to his lips, he could smell it before he tasted it, which he didn’t mind. He assumed it was green tea, it was aromatic and full of depth, he could tell from scent alone. It tasted just the way it smelled; expensive. Even if he didn’t love it, he would drink it to the very last drop, to the last cent.

“So what do you do all day? What are your duties?” Spider asked then, looking up from his cup.

Stasi let out a thoughtful hum as she sipped from her cup. She lowered it a bit, swirling the cup a bit to loosen some leaves that clung to the bottom of the porcelain.

“Not too much. I mostly run messages between the different businesses. Sometimes I collect money or products from our business partners and other clientele. It’s mostly light work compared to what you were doing before, I’m sure.” Stasi nodded. “I don’t have a heavy hand in the business, so it’s mostly doing as I please in between those jobs. You’ll mostly be expected to keep me company during those times.”

Spider gave his own thoughtful nod, it was not unlike how Ania started out. He can remember going with her on those types of errands, the delivery of things and just being present for certain meetings. That being said, they never hung out. He just happened to be around in her leisure time, but they certainly weren’t spending time together.

“You probably already know, I’m terrible company.” He said then.

“I seem to recall otherwise.” Stasi gave a sly look over the top of her cup. Before she could egg Spider on any further, two servers came into the room with their food and proceeded to serve up equal portions to the two of them, most likely assuming Spider was of equal importance to Stasi. She did not bother correcting them. “I hope you don’t mind picking me up for early gym sessions. I try to keep up with my practices there.” She said before gesturing to Spider’s plate, urging him to dig in.

Spider hesitated a bit but did eventually pick up his cutlery and began picking at his plate.

“I wouldn’t be picking you up, I’d be with you.” Spider said then. He’d spent countless hours following Ania anywhere and everywhere. She suffered from insomnia ever since she was a girl, she ate up her hours with physically exhausting activities in hope of it forcing her to sleep. Spider followed behind her on all her late night runs, he held her shoes for her when she did sit ups. He held the sandbag for her muy thai, taking as many blows as he could before unleashing her on the free hanging punching bags. When the sun began to rise, he’d chase after her again for her second run. He’d stand in the doorway while she broke in her pointe shoes, he’d thread the needle for her when she wanted to sew them to her tights, he counted her turns and told her when they were perfect, and when they were bad.

It went without saying, he would do whatever version of that was for Stasi. Being her first personal guard, he didn’t expect her to know that off hand though. She probably thought he would wait for her in the wings, when she called for him or when it was important. But unless dismissed, he would go where she went.

“I’ll make sure a car is arranged for us afterwards, of course.” He reassured.

Stasi couldn’t help but smile an amused little grin at the thought of Apider tagging along even to her gym sessions.

“Will you go with me to all my affairs then? Even pole dancing classes?” She asked. “I’ve gotten pretty good, I can take you to my apartment and show you later today even if you wanted.” She playfully added.

“That won’t be necessary, you don’t need to do anything at my behest.” Spider began, waving her off. “But, yes, I would even go to those with you.” He added then.

“Don’t be such a stiff, Spider. It was just a little joke.” Stasi said, though if Spider had shown interest, she would have happily taken him back to her apartment to show him what she could do on the pole and maybe even what she could do in bed with a sober mind. “If you’re busy following me around, when will you have time for yourself?” She asked, curious.
