Havania had been laid up in a "recovery" room, though everyone seemed skeptic she'd survive the bite, while her brother had been placed in a separate room where he'd receive around the clock care. She looked worse for wear, her usually warm and brown skin clammy and pale from blood loss. Her brow was twisted in agony though she slept. Overall, she didn't look great. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts.
Navrik looked at the girl sympathetically before pulling up a chair and sitting down for a minute.
"I'm so sorry this happened to you." He sighed, looking her over. The wolf that attacked them did a number on the girl, although she was still in better shape than some of the bodies he'd left behind in the past. He wondered for a minute if it was worth it to ask his sister for a favor over this.
Though it was distant, Havania could have sworn she heard a voice. She let out a slight whimper and turned her head towards the sound, eyes squinting as a figure came into focus.
"Keli...Keli?" She croaked at the figure. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts.
Things has never been easy for the Castillo siblings, in fact, even Havania could hardly remember a time when things weren't trying. Certainly, it had to have been a time before Fausto and Adelina Castillo passed, leaving their three children orphaned in the most dire of circumstances. Yes, it had to have been before then. Havania had such fond memories with her parents and her brothers, but after their parents passed it was all a horrible blur of terrible circumstance after terrible circumstance.
The funeral. The belligerent uncle. The homelessness. The wolf.
And then another funeral, this one for Kelli.
More than trying to wrap her head around this new situation, Havania was still grappling with the loss of her brother. Though she'd been told they were unable to recover a body, she'd also been told that the likelihood of him being found alive wasn't at all likely. For the first few days after being dealt that news, she couldn't even bring herself to leave bed. She was in such agony, she couldn't even bring herself to go visit Nevandre in the hospital, where he'd been since the attack. She didn't know how to face him after everything, she didn't know how to tell him that she'd failed him and their brother. But eventually, after some much needed coaxing from that Mityr man whose care she'd been placed under, she did just that.
She got out of her bed, she went and saw Nevandre, and then the both cried for hours with one another and, despite her own feelings towards her folly, Nevandre assured her that none of this was her fault. She was still trying believe that herself, but at least her brother's words assured her enough to keep going.
Though far from being back to her "normal" self, Havania had at least managed to leave Mityr's townhouse for another purpose other than visiting her brother and was heading to the Society building to get herself documented as a....well, werewolf.
At first she hardly believed that that is what she had become, after all, she'd never believed there was such thing as werewolves in the first place, but after everything she'd witnessed that night and witnessed later on even when Mityr showed her his wolf, she began to cope with her new reality. Though she had yet to change, she was assured that the only reason she'd lived after the attack was due to the wolf bite and she'd see change soon. But before all that could happen, she'd been instructed to go get registered, which was why she was trotting up the building steps, heading into the Society building with a stack of paperwork brought to her by Mityr clutched to her chest.
SHe glanced down at the haphazard instructions Mityr had written down for her on a sticky note stuck to the top of the paperwork and she frowned when she found it was incomprehensible. She looked around the room then and realized she'd have to ask for help then from one of these...strange people. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts.
Navrik was something of...A temp in the supernatural underworld. He did a little this, a little that for everyone; The Society, The Maniacs, some odd jobs for his different 'friends' in the community. Whether it was delivering supplies to Irene in the sticks, extra muscle for Riley, or even helping Roxanne carry groceries home; he'd made a humble little life for himself surrounded by these odd figures. One figure though, he didn't find odd at all and couldn't seem to forget. The girl from the wolf attack.
He wasn't really the romantic type and he certainly couldn't think of her that way; given the situation it seemed insensitive. But he did think about her often in terms of, is she okay? Is she processing all of this? Did they every catch the wolf responsible, would her family see justice if not at the very least, vengeance? He sighed, closing a filing cabinet that he had been organizing. Upon turning away from his work station, who would he happen to see? The girl he'd been so concerned for.
Involuntarily he smiled, but cleared his throat and collected himself. Should he say hi? Navrik wasn't super social, he was a little socially stunted, but he wanted to reach out to her. At least extend any condolences that were in order, offer any help her could. He sort of awkwardly dusted off his shirt, he only owned a couple work button ups and none of them were really great. But, he gathered up his courage and approached her.
"Hello-" Navrik began boldly, almost imediately retracting because what was he going to say? Hey is your family dead? Sorry you're family is dead, can I help with stuff??? He swallowed the lump in his throat and tried to work through his social anxiety. "Hey, um, I doubt you remember me. But it's certainly nice to see you." He managed to greet.
Havania gave a little jolt upon being approached and greeted by a vaguely familiar stranger.
"Oh, uh, hello, I'm...sorry, but I don't...um...I'm really sorry, but I don't remember you." Havania said, making a face as she continued, embarrassed. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts.
"Oh no, it's okay. I...Don't suppose I'm apart of a good memory, maybe it's best that you don't. But, my name is Navrik, I kind of work here. Can I help you with anything?" Navrik asked.
"What?" Havania made a slight face, but then she gave a little bob of her head when Navrik had asked if she'd needed help. "Yeah, I'm here to get...documented or something like that. Mityr wrote down where I was supposed to go, but his handwriting is awful." Havania admitted as she turned the stack of papers and the sticky note towards Navrik. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts.
"Oh you're with Mityr, yeah, Riley has told me before that she can't stand it when he writes the shopping list. Let me take a look." Navrik nodded, taking the sticky note and squinting his eyes. "It's...Not something I can translate. But, I can't get you where you need to go, I know where they typically document new wolves." He explained, handing back the sticky note.
"Riley? That's his wife, right? I've only ever seen her in passing." Havania said as she took back the sticky note, though she didn't want to admit that was probably because she'd been in her room for most of her stay at Mityr's. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts.
"Yes, she's a friend of mind. She's not super nice, so you're not missing much." Navrik admitted. "Follow me though, I'll escort you." He offered, nodding towards the elevator.
"Oh, she seems nice enough." Havania said, though she'd only caught most of Riley's interactions with Mityr. "Are you sure? I don't want to cause you any problems if it's a bother to escort me." _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts.
"Oh, I'm sorry. You probably want to get home then, don't you?" Havania said, making a slight face. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts.
