"Okay...Okay...Just tell me when." She breathed, reaching for a hand, without thinking, Amulius took it. He held her hand as he crouched beside her, wanting to support and comfort her even if it felt like it was from a stranger.
"You'll do great." He encouraged. |

From there it was mostly a blur, Natas sobbed a lot, cried that she wasn't strong enough. But in spite of her pain and fear, she pressed on. Hours passed, she was exhausted and feeling defeated. But with one final push, her new son was born.
His cries echoed throughout the shed, his tiny fists bawled up and shaking, his eyes winced shut as he yelled. He appeared strong and healthy, of average size with a dark tuft of hair atop his head. Natas panted, releasing Amulius's hand as she fell back.
"Is he okay?" She quizzed. |

"He's perfect, Natas, he's so perfect." Armand sputtered with a huge grin on his face as he handled the newborn babe. He held his son close to him, trying to conduct heat for him, before he managed to shuffle over to Natas's side to offer him out to her in all of his wailing glory.

| Natas sobbed happily, accepting the babe into her arms. Reaching behind her, she grabbed the cloak offered to her earlier and used it to bundle around the baby. Instinctively, she revealed a breast to the infant, immediately he began rooting for it before finding the nipple and latching with ease. Amulius felt relieved that the baby was okay, that his Mom was unharmed and that he could be here for all of this. He would feel sad leaving, and he felt positive, he could never return to them again after this. He'd already jeopardized their safety once and that was more than enough. |

While the baby suckled, Armand reached out to gently stroke the side of his new son's face, beaming proudly at just how strong and healthy he was. He pulled his hand away then to smooth at Natas's hair then before stooping over to kiss her forehead.
"You did so well." He crooned at her.

| "You did too." Natas commented, smiling at Armand briefly before looking back to her baby. "What should we call him? We didn't decide on a name." She said. |

"Yes, I think Fausto is perfect." Natas agreed with a nod, smiling down at little baby Fausto.
Amulius wished he could stay, but he knew it would be more trouble than if he were to go. He opted to not announce his leave or say goodbye, he shut his eyes briefly saying parting words mostly to himself before slipping away. |

Armand looked up, hopeful to share his joy with his other son, but found his heart instantly dropping sadly along with his smile. Amulius was gone and part of Armand knew that it was for good. Of course, he'd been the one to leave his son back in New York, but this time Amulius was the one to leave him and suddenly he knew the ache Amulius had felt.
He tried not to dwell and directed his attention back to Natas and their son, all the while calculating the next move.

| Natas hadn't even thought about their next move, somewhere in her mind she thought it was over. That they'd get up and make the long walk home with their new baby, as though nothing had changed. She was in a blissful haze, staring down at baby Fausto. |

Armand let out a little sigh, forcing a small smile again for Natas's sake and leaned down to kiss at her forehead again.
"I'm going to step out, Natas. I'm going to see if I can gather you clean clothes and something better to bundle Fausto in." He said to her, smoothing her hair again.
