“Mm, I mean, I don’t know. I keep work and life as separate as I can. Sometimes I do have to take things home, big caseloads and what have you.” JJ let out a thoughtful hum. “I don’t usually have a ton of free time, but I come by it often enough, I suppose.”

“I usually do some light reading and I go to the shooting range sometimes. I like watching crime docuseries, but if you have ever been to my house you’d know how hard it is to get the living room tv.” JJ explained. “What do you like to do?” He almost added “in your free time”, but he was fairly certain that all of Luas time was free time.

“Uh no, well, kind of. I feel like camping implies things like RVs and tents. I guess it’s a little lower maintenance than that for me.” She explained. |

“Oh...wow, that’s intense.” JJ chuckled, though he didn’t mean it mockingly. He was simply genuinely surprised anyone lived like that in reality.
They came up on the little Bendito Bodega, a spot favored by many in the supernatural community as it was run by a family of witches (plus one human boi). JJ gestured Lua to go in before him as he opened the door.
“They don’t have rabbit, but I know their carnitas torts is to die for.” He suggested.

After sharing a couple of tortas with one another, JJ and Lua went to leave the bodega, but not before JJ insisted on grabbing Lua some on the road treats since he knew she was already dreading her drive home.
“I had a pretty good time, Lua.” He said to her as he carried her bag in one hand and offered his other arm out as he’d done before.
