Riley had come home after a long days work (as they often were), she had kicked off her shoes and peeled off her panty hose; leaving a pile of clothes on her side of their walk in closet before exiting and plopping into bed. Her inky black curls fanning out in coil like swirls as she nestled her face into the sheets. She felt like, all she'd been doing lately, was working. Although she had been working the same amount she always had since coming to the city, her days felt longer and less fulfilling for some reason. Riley loved her job, her work meant a lot to her because she knew she could do it well. But now her kids were grown, all of them with a hand in the business in one way or another. She couldn't be more proud, her children were amazing forces of nature. But, coming home every night to a quiet house from job that felt like it was forgetting her...It was draining as it was defeating.

She peeked up from the blankets, listening for Mityr in their bathroom, surely getting ready for bed himself. Riley waited to see his face and while doing that, she wondered if he felt similarly? Or if he missed the things she was missing? Maybe it was time to start taking a step back from the business, they had more than enough to afford and support a child more from home. Would her older kids resent her for it? She wondered what Mityr might think.

Mityr was scrubbing his hair dry after his shower when he heard Riley's shuffling in their room. She'd called him earlier and told him she'd be home late, which was fine and fair enough. Mityr knew she was a busy woman and took her work ultra-seriously, but sometimes, recently mostly, things at home felt...lonely.

Mityr worked enough and was constantly surrounded by longtime friends and coworkers during his day, but it was somewhat disheartening to come home to a more and more often empty house. He missed the days when he and Riley came home to a full house, he missed spending time with his little ones when they were just little, he missed when he'd get to watch Riley just be a mom and not a mob boss.

He hung up his towel and emerged from the bathroom only to make a straight line for the bed.

"Are you already asleep?" He asked as he sank into the bed, settling into his side.

"No, my body is tired but my mind is restless." She said with a lazy shrug, peeking up at him. "How was your day?" Riley asked then, wanting to take an interest first in him before what was bothering her.

"It was... Well, it was a day." Mityr gave a little shrug himself. "I had no jobs today so it was just a day at home." He said, reaching out then to cup at Riley's face. He leaned in to kiss her forehead. "What's on your mind that keeps you from sleep?"

Riley wasn't one to beat around the bush, and she knew if there was anyone she could tell what was on her mind it was Mityr.

"Work has felt...lonely, home has felt kind of lonely too." She began slowly. "I miss having children." She said then.

"Mm, I do too." Mityr admitted. "I've been thinking about the time when all of our kids were still small recently." He smiled wistfully and pushed stroked at Riley's cheek. "About you too, taking care of our littles."

"Would you ever want to do it again?" Riley asked then, looking very serious.

"Have more kids?" Mityr asked before letting out a thoughtful noise. "I hadn't thought about it before, but I suppose you don't really have a reason to think about more kids when you have your hands full with them." He admitted. "I think I would be open to it now...what about you?"

"I hadn't thought about it previously, I feel like I see our kids now almost everyday at work. But lately, tonight in particular, it feels like...Something I would want." Riley admitted.

"Oh?" Mityr went to sit up a bit then. "Do you think...it'll be something you want beyond tonight too?"

Riley nodded quietly, looking up at her husband. "I think that, I'm ready to take a step back from work. I want to be home and fall asleep watching cartoons with a little you." She said then, looking and sounding unusually soft.

Mityr couldn't help but smile fondly at the notion.
