Remus thought about it, he wasn’t the best at complex thought.

“I think, I would be. It’s kind of like I’m already excited about it? I miss having a little baby around, and you were the cutest pregnant lady I’d ever seen. And there’s all this cool stuff now that there wasn’t when Lu was a baby.” Remus explained.

Astrid smiled and leaned into Remus.

"I think I would be, too." She admitted with a nod. "So...if I'm not, maybe we should talk about trying for another baby?" She glanced up at Remus to gauge his reaction.

Remus smiled softly, leaning down to press his forehead against hers.

Astrid's face scrunched with a smile before she tilted her head up to place a little peck at Remus's face.

"Okay, I'm going to take this test and then I have to start breakfast for Lucita. Can you get the ironing board down for me? I washed her uniform last night and want to make sure it's pressed before she gets ready." Astrid said, getting up and unboxing the test as she did so. "Since you're up, do you want to eat with us?" She paused to look over at Remus. He usually slept through the morning rituals she had with their daughter since he worked so late.

“Yeah, that sounds good. Do you want me to set the table too?” Remus called out to her as he went to retrieve the ironing board from the back of the bedroom door, dislodging it from the high hook on the door.

"Yes, that'd be great." Astrid turned to head into the bathroom and paused in the doorway one more time. "And would you mind making sure Lucita is getting up? It's Tuesday, so she needs to be at school early for her tutoring gig with that Donnehugh boy."

“Sure.” Remus called back before walking out and heading down the hall to his daughters room, giving the door a few quick raps. “Lu?” He called through the door.

On the other side of the door, Lucita let out a sleepy groan of confusion at having heard her dad rather than her mom.

"Dad?" She said, her voice groggy with sleep as she sat up in bed, emerging from a mass of blankets. Much like her father, she liked to sleep in the toastiest conditions possible.

Meanwhile, Astrid was in the bathroom, putting the plastic cap back on the pregnancy test after having taken it. She set it on the ledge of the sink and washed her hands, eyes glued to it the entire time as if that would make the results appear that much sooner.

Remus cracked the door open and smiled after looking in. “Ah, you look so cute in the morning, just like when you were little.” Remus gushed. “Mom said you need to be up earlier, something about tutoring?”

Lucita let out a more irritated groan than the one previous and flopped back into her pile of blankets, practically sinking into oblivion with only tendrils of dark black hair poking out here and there.

"Gavin is a lost cause, it's not even worth the extra credit trying to tutor him. He asked me what an isotope was, Dad." Lucita complained, her words muffled in the fabric encasing her.

“His name is Gavin? That’s a weird name...I also don’t know what an isotope is.” Remus said, leaning on the door frame. “I’m any case, you gotta keep your commitments, right? Do you want me to make some coffee?” He asked.

"It's different for you, Dad. Your family isn't paying for you to go to a top notch high school only for you to be flunking middle school chemistry as a senior." Lucita continued to grouse, though she finally sat back up. "With with the French vanilla creamer mom bought, please." She answered her dad's question as she rolled out of bed.

Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Astrid had taken up a perch on the edge of the tub and was still staring down the test. Luckily, Remus had the foresight (or perhaps just a guess) to grab one of the nicer electronic tests so after a few minutes, it chirped at her and she hurriedly scrambled back to her feet to go investigate. Her heart giddily swelled in her chest when the word "Pregnant" peered back at her from the tiny screen. She hadn't thought she'd get so excited, but she did a little dance before skittering out of the bathroom to go find Remus, test still in hand.

Remus had headed down stairs, skipping a steps with long strides (as he was a very tall man). He had put coffee on and was setting the table when he could hear small footsteps which he assumed it was his wife.

“Well?” He called, setting plates down on the table.

Remus had assumed correctly, calling out to Astrid just as she reached the bottom step of the stairs and rounded into the dining nook adjoining the kitchen. She was grinning from ear to ear as she carefully held the test up for Remus to see.

"See for yourself." She said.

Remus bent down, squinting to read it as he probably needed glasses like his brother. After a moment he smiled widely, “well I’ll be!” A phrase he didn’t really know what it meant but had heard it in movies. He sat down the plate he had before scooping Astrid up off her feet, arms wrapped around her waist as he did so.

“Well congratulations!” He laughed.
