"You were worried?" Romulus asked. Part of him felt bad for making Remedy fuss over him, but another part of him was a little excited that he even occupied any part of Remedy's thoughts. He was quick to tamp down that excitement however. "I'm sorry." He said, looking down at the coffee cup.

"Romulus, it's alright." Remedy laughed a little again, her way today was to just be warm, be light hearted. She didn't want to put any pressure on him at all. "Anyways, I think you wanted to talk about the boys, right?" She said then, changing the subject to take some of the weight off of him.

"Mm, yeah." Romulus gave a little bob of his head, gaze still downcast as he ran his thumb over the lip of the cup, blocking and unblocking the mouth hole to allow steam out. "I...I wanted to know about them." He admitted.

"Well I am the best person to ask." Remedy grinned and nodded. "Ask away." She consented before taking a drink of her own coffee.

Romulus wasn't really sure where to start, he supposed maybe the beginning.

"How long after I left did you find out?" He asked, looking over at Remedy.

"Not long, I think four weeks maybe." Remedy began, it was her turn to stare down into her coffee cup. She had some regret of course, one of was not trying to communicate harder with Romulus. She didn't and Remus encouraged her not to so because of the danger it could present, but she really wished he would've known. "I tried to reach you." She added, chewing on the inside of her cheek.

"Remus told me." Romulus nodded, hand fussing at the cup. "Were you...happy? When you found out?" He risked a glance over to Remedy then.

"I was." Remedy answered, maybe somewhat quickly. But she was telling the truth, she was of course scared in the sense that she would be a single mother. But not for a second, did she consider anything different than what she did. She kept them, birthed them, raised them; it was all joy, she felt blessed to be their mom. Remedy didn't look up at Romulus then, still staring down at her coffee cup. But she was smiling softly to herself as she thought about her baby boys and all the good things about them. She wanted to ask how he felt when he found out, which was only a few weeks ago. But she wanted to keep it on her and the boys, she was worried if she asked him too many personal questions, it may scare him off.

Romulus allowed a small smile to slip as he watched Remedy's own soft grin play on her lips, thinking of their boys surely.

"Were they good babies?" He asked, curious.

The only experience he had with babies, that he could recall, was when his youngest brother Amulius was born. Natas had never paid much mind to Romulus and their other siblings, not even when they were small - she left most of the child rearing to Armand who was hardly an ideal caregiver - however, with Amulius it was different. He was almost always in her arms or at her breast. Romulus had never seen their mother smile, at least not without malintent, but he could recall little moments of something like warmth on her face as she fawned over the youngest Navares sibling. In the brief moments she laid Amulius down in bed so she could practice her dark magic, Romulus would often approach the babe with curiosity. Romulus was still small himself, but he could remember how soft his little brother's chubby hands were, his quiet little coos, and his bright eyes. He thought he was a good baby, good in a way that only those new to life could be. Though it was surely not allowed, he loved his little brother in a way that was similar to the way he loved his twin

"They were." Remedy said, smiling still. But she looked up from her coffee then but her expression was still soft, content as she reminisced about the early days with the twins. "They were born a little early, which I'm told is common with twins. But they were born healthy, good enough weight considering. Peter said they had strong lungs, they came out kind of squawking? Rather than crying." She explained with a little chuckle.

"Was it hard on you? The labor?" Romulus asked, brows pinching a little at the thought. He recalled how tumultuous Amulius's birth had been, how frantic his father had been while Natas made sounds of pain Romulus had never heard from her. He had also never smelt so much blood. Amulius was supposed to be a twin, but his twin had passed away. Romulus understood, from that ordeal alone, that twin births were hard.

"Yes, but luckily, I'm very tough." Remedy joked, giving Romulus a little nudge with her elbow. "It was long at first, but once I started pushing they came quick. I had help too, Peter was on top of things and my dad held my hand and mom caught them." Remedy explained somewhat fondly. Childbirth was always traumatic because it was traumatic, but Remedy reflected with a full heart. She was missing Romulus of course, but her parents were there and had been there for her long before and ever since. She never once felt afraid, if anything, she felt stronger because they were there.

Romulus smiled a little and nodded.

"You are very tough." He agreed and took his first sip of coffee then, seeming to finally relax even just a little. "You said before you had photos of them as babies...can...if you want to show me still...can I see them?" He asked.

Remedy's smiled widened at that and she nodded, trying not to seem too eager.

"Of course, all I have on my phone are pictures of them." Remedy said as she shifted to pull her phone out of her jean pocket. She flipped through the photos and clicked through to a specific photo album that was titled, 'early days.' It was all photos from the twins first year of life, them in varying stages of development. She found one of the twins from when the day they were born, this photo was of them in their newborn cribs in the hospital. They were wearing little hats and had little mittens on their hands. They were long and thin, with frog legs and big eyes, though they were mostly closed.

Romulus couldn't help but laugh a little, though it came out a bit hoarse, when he saw the photo of the fresh babes.

"They look so different here from the photo I saw before." He said.
