Natas gasped and shrieked in the room upon hearing the screaming and ruckus outside. She scrambled to her feet and opened the door, gasping and drawing back upon seeing a large animal atop a person.

"Armand - AGH - Navares, you and your mate are both under arrest for - dammit all, stop trying to bite me!" JJ shouted as he tried to fight off Armand. He managed to toss the man/wolf away from him, quickly taking aim and shooting off several rounds, which Armand dodged amazingly enough before diving behind a bookshelf to shift back into a human.

"Leave us, little wolf, lest you want you and all your men dead!" Armand warned, listening as JJ reloaded his gun.

"I'm not leaving without the both of you, whether that's with you in our custody or in body bags." JJ insisted.

Natas was overwhelmed to say the least, but she recognized Armand behind a bookcase. Racing behind several other rows, she made her way to him, crouching down to hide by his side.

"What's happening?" She asked, panicked.

Armand hurriedly turned to Natas, reaching out to touch her face, pressing his palms to her cheeks as it to assure himself she was there and okay.

"Natas, are you hurt?" He asked first.

"No, no, I'm okay. Are you hurt?" She asked then, instinctively placing her hand over his as she observed him for bullet wounds.

"I'm fine." Armand assured, letting out a breath of relief before looking Natas firmly and a bit...sadly. "Natas, we have to go now. These men are dangerous and want to hurt us. We have to leave."

Natas nodded, understanding that much. "Okay, I trust you. Just lead, tell me what to do." She said letting out a shaky breath.

"I can disarm him, get him incapacitated long enough to get us away. We'll go to the house, only long enough to gather our basic needs. We'll leave from there, we'll find somewhere safe." Armand explained, nodding. "Do you understand?"

"Yes, I understand." Natas nodded again, she had so many questions but she understood there was no time now. Their peaceful life here was ending and it was time to go.

Armand could see the questions in Natas's eyes and frowned, leaning in to press his forehead to hers.

"I will explain the best I can. I promise. I just have to keep us safe for now." He said.

Natas nodded lightly in acknowledgment, pulling away then.

"Please, be careful." She said before pressing her lips to his forehead then.

"For you, always." Armand assured, closing his eyes for the briefest moment at the affection before pulling away from Natas. He turned away and took a deep breath before darting out, teeth bared and snapping immediately as he rushed right into JJ.

JJ let out a startled breath and managed to squeeze off a round, striking Armand in the arm, however, that was all he managed before Armand grabbed his arm and gave a painful twist and pull, effectively breaking something. JJ proceeded to let out a painful cry as he collapsed to his knees before Armand pulled away and hurried back over to collect Natas. He grabbed at her hand and proceeded to pull her along.

Natas squeezed Armand's hand tightly, running at his heels only briefly glancing at the gun wielding boy on the ground.

JJ scrambled for his gun, but due to the pain in his arm and the adrenaline, he couldn't do anything but stumble with it.

Meanwhile, Armand hurried Natas along, while holding his wound with his free hand.

Natas wasn't terribly athletic, but she was in shape. Keeping up with Armand wasn't very hard. Looking over her shoulder she couldn't help but feel sad, that person with the gun looked like he was still a child. Human Natas was very much capable of empathy.
