Nina left the contact for Lazlo to reach back, though she assured she would be calling back in an hour if she didn’t hear from him. Meanwhile, the officer struggled with the babies, his expression pathetic; wordlessly he looked to Nina for help. But Nina wordlessly, said ‘no,’ with her eyes before hanging up the phone.

Almost as soon as he hung up, Lazlo was dialing for his husband’s number, hopeful he wasn’t too busy to answer the call. After all, this call was of utmost importance.

Despite whatever he may say, little was more important to Amulius than Lazlo (save for their kids). Amulius was just finishing an errand, delivering some goods to Constance, when his phone began buzzing in his pocket. He pulled it out and answered quickly seeing it was his husband, though he assumed he was calling about dinner plans or to ask where something was.

“Hey, what’s up?” He answered, already headed to the elevator of Constances apartment building.

“Hey, are you done with your job? Busy? Can you blip home ASAP?” Lazlo spluttered out all at once.

"No, nothing like that. No one is in danger, but it is important." Lazlo said, nodding as if Amulius could see it.

“Okay, I’ll be there in a second.” Amulius said before hanging up. Just as easily as he stepped into the elevator, when the doors opened he stepped out and within a step he was in his living room; the heel of his boot clanking on the hardwood as he stepped down from thin air. “I’m here, what’s going on?” Amulius called, looking around for his husband.

Lazlo spun, without missing a single beat, when he heard the telltale sounds of his husband's footfalls from the other room. He set the landline back on the receiver and went to rush his husband, still caught up in the initial flurry of emotions that came with the phone call about the babes.

"Amulius, babe, you like kids right?" He rushed out, obviously giving no context.

Amulius spun around to face Lazlo as he entered the room, quirking a brow.

“Yes? We have two.” He replied.

"What about having another? Maybe two? How do you feel about that?" Lazlo asked, reaching and grabbing up his husband's hands.

Amulius was confused, but allowed his husband to take his hand as he nodded with some uncertainty. Though he wasn’t positive where this was going, he was never not excited about the prospect of babies.

“Of course, why not?” He sort of shrugged, though he could feel in his chest he was getting giddy.

It was as if Lazlo could feel the excited giddiness ebbing off of Amulius and he began to smile.

"The Society called. The family services department specifically. I thought they were calling about Norah or something, maybe wanting to take her away or something, which, good luck prying her from my cold dead hands, but that's beside the point." Lazlo went on. "They called because apparently when we took in Norah we were put in the system as potential caregivers and they wanted to see if we could do that for some other babies. Two of them. Twins."

Amulius often carried a deadpan expression, unimpressed by most things and people. But while he retained his expression, he could hear the blood pumping in his ears that he was so excited.

“Then what are we waiting for?” Amulius asked, still holding Lazlos hand, he pulled him in close to blip them to the Society building.
