It had been about three weeks of the Navares brother’s time in holding, undergoing intense interrogation. But Remedy had been there everyday, even if she wasn’t allowed to see Romulus, she was there advocating for his persons. She was constantly checking up on him, bothering Society workers to ensure he was getting treated fairly. Lastly, she made sure she was his emergency contact, and was there waiting for him outside, waiting for his release.

She was waiting, arms crossed as she lent against the passenger door of her own beat up 1970 Ford Torino that she was in the process of restoring. It wasn’t like Remedy to be anxious, but her boot was tapping against the pavement with anticipation as she waited.

Romulus and Remus were at long last being released from their little stint in Society's custody. They didn't have much on either of them by the way of personal belongings when they came in, but as they were leaving, and after having gone over a tedious amount of paper (that neither of them could read), they stopped off in an office upstairs to pick up packets containing new IDs, documents, and a fat stack of appointment cards with dates they needed to keep "or else". Romulus tucked it tight to his chest as the twosome made their way back to the main lobby of the building.

Remus quickly parted ways with his brother, insisting he had to go find Astrid, which left Romulus alone as he shuffled out of the building.

Remedy saw Remus emerge and quickly take off, probably to go find Astrid. Which meant Romulus shouldn’t be far behind, upon seeing him shuffle out she leapt off and away from her car and began jogging over to him.

“Romulus!” She called.

Romulus looked up and visibly lit up when he saw Remedy rushing towards him. Though he had been working hard the last few weeks to refrain from becoming too hopeful or "desperate" in regards to Remedy, he was unable to help himself as he dropped the packet of documents he'd been clutching to and reached out to quickly ensnare Remedy in his grasp.

"Remy!" He beamed.

Between their breakup and Romulus being in jail, it had been so long since Remedy and Romulus had touched; a sensation she had greatly missed. She didn’t slow down or hold back, throwing herself into his arms and wrapping her arms around his neck snuggly. She wondered if there would be some awkwardness, some refrain to be affectionate or familiar after everything that had happened. But it was almost instinctive for her to rush to him this way, it may as well have been magnetic.

Romulus held Remedy tight to his frame and buried his face into her neck and cheek. He lingered like that for several long seconds before pulling back enough to show Remedy his giddy and relieved grin.

"You came to meet me?" He asked, reaching up then to touch at her face.

Remedy relished in the embrace, holding on tightly as she buried her own face against his neck. Only moving once Romulus moved away.

“Who else would I be here for?” She said playfully, mirroring his movements, cupping his face.

"I don't know. My brother did just leave, maybe you came to pick him up." Romulus joked, still beaming down at Remedy. "But I'd like it better if you were here to get me."

"Good." Romulus chuckled before he dared to lean down to press his forehead to Remedy's, her fingers still touching at his face and his on hers. "I'm really happy you're here...I'm happy that you've been here."

While the familiarity was still very much there, after everything, his face so close to hers made her heart flutter. It was a feeling nostalgic of the early, clumsy and sort of innocent, acts of intimacy between them. Remedy didn’t mind it, it was exciting in a way; not that she’d ever tell him that. That being said, she didn’t recoil from the gesture. The act to stay close and even lean in felt more natural than months ago when we shrank back from him on the sidewalk.

“I promised I would be.” Remedy smiles softly. “I’m happy too, it feels right.”

Romulus's heart gave a leap of it's own at Remedy's words.

"I think so too." He said, their noses gently brushing. "Remedy, I love you. I never stopped."
