Ricky tried not to frown and instead went to serve Blossom first, then himself. Claire waited and then went to make herself a plate, dishing up hardy portions of everything.

“So how was everyone’s day?” Rowan asked as everybody was getting served up. Clover begrudgingly pushing food around his plate.

“Oh, you know, we’re still unpacking. I’ve got a lot of stuff to unload.” Claire nodded as she dug in. She reached over for Clover’s leg and gave his thigh a squeeze when she saw him pushing around his food. “Speaking of, Bloss, you should come over and go through my clothes. I’m going to be getting a new wardrobe soon and won’t need a lot of it.”

“Well, I don’t know how big you got with Blossom and Clover, but my mom said she blew up when she was pregnant with me and Ricky.” Claire said simply, hiding a smile as she waited for everyone’s reactions.

“Well, Vi got huge with Bloss. Blossom was like, fifteen pounds at birth.” Rowan nodded thoughtfully, not quiet getting it yet.

Violet paused, before looking up from her salad.

“Claire, you better not be teasing.” Violet warned.

Clover’s face lit up as he whipped his head around to face her.

“Ah! No! Already?” He sputtered excitedly.

Blossom glanced at Ricky expectantly, sort of did you know she was pregnant?

“First time worked like a charm.” Claire beamed. “I’m only about eight weeks, but I feel really good.”

Ricky gaped. He knew that Claire and Clover were TALKING about having a family, he didn’t know they were actively trying though.

Clover exclaimed, a gleeful screech of some kind as her threw his arms around her for an embrace.

There was some collection of ‘wow’s and ‘congratulations,’ amongst Blossom and her parents.

“You better make a second plate when you’ve cleared your first, then. I need to make sure Clover isn’t filling you with garbage.” Violet lectured prematurely.

“Don’t worry, I do all the cooking at home.” Claire laughed, hugging Clover back. She glanced over at Ricky.

“I didn’t know you guys were already trying.” Ricky admitted, though he eventually did smile. “Congratulations, you guys. I can’t wait to meet them.”

Claire never thought she'd find love again after losing Francisco, but here she was doing just that with none other than Clover Phuong Khiev. He was a kind soul, arguably sometimes too kind, and was perhaps the most patient and understanding person Claire had ever met. He never made fun of her (not in seriousness), but he often made her feel silly. He never made her question her feelings towards him or anything else, he simply validated her and helped her work through everything. He made her better, he made her happy.

And he'd made her a mama.

She was halfway through her pregnancy now and getting bigger every day. She'd gotten the luck of the draw and had never had so much as a wave of nausea or any aches and pains. Much like her ever-growing love for Clover, Claire was absolutely smitten with her little frijole and was giddier every day about the prospect of getting to meet them so very soon.

As she was halfway through her pregnancy, it was tradition held by the Bendito women that they would prepare a feast and trade in predictions regarding her and her sweet babe. For as long as there had been Bendito women having Bendito babies, there was their tradition traced all the way back to Mexico.

Claire's mother often told her that the predictions had never been wrong and that everyone had fulfilled their "prophecies" so to speak, but Claire's tia Nia told her that that couldn't be true because none of them had seen Ricky coming. He was often referred to as the "greatest surprise" because no one expected another baby in the delivery room, they expected a boy even less. But still, Claire thought it'd be fun to see what everyone had to say, whether it was accurate or not. Though, admittedly, she did hope she'd only hear good things about her little little.

Currently, she was in the kitchen, her waist awkwardly wrapped in her mother's apron and her hands making quick work of flipping tortillas. Her stomach was surprisingly swollen and it was making everything ill fitted. She more and more often looted Clover's closet for clothes (though she had to roll up sweats and what not infinity times), though today she was wearing a sundress that still fit half decent.

She'd only invited Clover, Blossom, and Amulius to this particular shindig as it was of the magical variety. She assured Clover that they'd have a separate party for the actual baby shower and she'd let him invite his whole family if his heart so desired. At the moment, she was sure Clover, Ricky, and Blossom were all being put to work as she'd gotten the lightest of tasks. Surely, Amulius would be blipping in soon to help with the more magical tasks.

Clover and Blossom were in fact working. Helping pick up and move furniture around to accommodate more chairs for more people, Blossom was also running interference with their Mom who undoubtedly sniffed out some sort of baby event happening that she was not included on. But Blossom did an okay job of convincing her not baby shower was happening without her.

It didn’t take long for Amulius to blip in silently as he often did. He stood behind Claire and fingered her curls.

“You look insane. Like a planet, huge but glowing.” He commented.

"It feels insane. I mean, I don't feel bad, but it does feel crazy." Claire laughed a bit and shrugged her shoulder as her curls were tickled and messed with. SHe of course knew the moment Amulius blipped in. Clover was undoubtedly the love of her life, but Amulius was her best friend and just as much a part of her as Clover and even Ricky. She turned to face him, grinning. "Did you bring the spices I asked for? The crystals?" She asked him.
