"Thank you, Daisy. We'll call before we come back tomorrow." Rundin nodded before looking back to Toma. He gave his brother's arm a little jostle. "Let's go, hmm? Maybe we can stop by the store, get Valentina some candy and flowers. It's been awhile since I've got her those." He suggested.

"Perfect, let's go then. See you Daisy, enjoy your downtime." Rundin nodded at Daisy before heading out with Toma.

Rundin and Toma did just as Rundin had said and went to the store to pick up some flowers and candy for Valentina. Of course, with the way Toma gawked at some of the sweets, Rundin couldn't help but buy some for him as well. They made their way back to the building where the Dalca's lived in an upper story penthouse and Rundin managed to juggle Valentina's presents while helping Toma out of the car.

"We live up top." He said to Toma, just trying to converse. "The guest room has a nice view of the city."

“I’ll be happy just to have a window.” Toma said, feigning a soft smile as he leaned on Rundin a bit.

His cell at the society was in the underground level, so no windows unfortunately.

“Well, hopefully if this antidote works well, we can get you into a halfway house. Some place with plenty of windows and good views.” Rundin said as he began leading the two of them toward the elevator in the parking garage.

He juggled everything again and managed to get them in the elevator and up to the upper penthouse floor Rundin and company all lived in. It was a bit excessive, but as Rundin and Valentina started their family it felt like the space they had was absolutely necessary. Each of the children had their own room and there was even an office space for Rundin and a guest room addition to that. Everything was certainly worn in by living but nothing was unkept.

They reached the top floor and went to the only door just outside of the elevator bank. Rundin finagled the door open.

“Val, we’re here!” He called.

“Welcome home!” Valentina called from the kitchen. Valentina was an alright cook but didn’t do it too often. But when she did, she went big. All burners were in use, steam clouded the kitchen which made Mihai happy he was on dish duty. Hovering over the sink to get his face as near to the open window as possible.

Valentina dried her hand she on a dish towel before crossing the room to greet them.

“Hello my boys, Toma, you look great.” She smiled, she first kissed Rundin on the cheek before leaning over and kissing Toma’s. He appeared surprised but didn’t jolt away from the contact.

“It smells good. Where are all my kids?” Rundin asked before calling for his babies. “Mishka, Mihai, Astrid, come here! Uncle Toma is here!”

Mihai was a bit apprehensive, he wasn’t as upset as his brother. But he still wasn’t sure if this was a good idea, his Mom after all didn’t always have the best judgment. Still, he made his was over to where they were gather.

Toma looked equally unsure, he immediately looked between Rundin and Valentina.

“It’s okay. It’s okay.” Valentina assured him quietly.

Astrid was in the middle of chopping vegetables for her mom and let out a lofty sigh as she stopped her task and went to join everyone. She didn’t know how to feel about “uncle Toma”, after all, he’s tried to make a snack out of her mom, but Rundin and Valentina both seemed to want to make it right and start bonding between all of them.

And if it was for her mom, Astrid would do almost anything. She dried off her hands on the front of an apron she was wearing and joined everyone. She quirked a brow and eyes Toma up and down.

“You don’t look crazy anymore.” She said.

Mishka was in his room, putting a new gear shift on his bike and made no move to go greet Toma. He was still bitter about him as a whole.

“Oh uh, um, thank you.” Toma sputtered.

“Hm, a little crazy. In like a, Boo Radley kind of way.” Mihai commented.

Now, To Kill A Mockingbird, wasn’t a part of the Romanian school curriculum. But Toma didn’t know that, unsure of the reference, he glanced questioningly at Rundin.

“It’s from a book. There’s a movie too. He is not like Boo Radley, Mihai.” Rundin said, making a slight face. “Where’s your brother? Go get him while I take your uncle’s things to the guest room.”

“He’s not gonna come out.” Mihai sighed. “But I’ll pass on the message.” He consented before turning on his heels to do just that.

Mihai strode down the hall to Mishka’s room and gave the door a quick knock and pushing it open.

“Dad said if you came out he’d finally give you the address of your birth parents.” Mihai said, leaning on the doorframe.

“That’s weird, you’re the only one ugly enough to possibly be adopted.” Mishka said, not so much as looking up from his task. “I’m not interested in making nice with that man.” He said about Toma.
