Blossom was no stranger to the bodega by now, if she wasn't at the apartment with Clover and Claire, she was over there. What Blossom was a stranger to, was romance and the opposite sex. But Clover and Claire, and even occasionally Amulius had been coaching her on how to be more outgoing about pursuing romantic options. There was a boy she knew well at her gym, they spot each other and have always had friendly banter for the most part, but with help from her posse, she was able to secure what she believed was a date. Being that Blossom rotated the same three sweat suits, she needed help getting ready. So who to turn to than her trusted big brother and his girlfriend.

They were expecting her, so Blossom pushed open the door of the bodega with an iced coffee and duffel bag in tow. She didn't really have nice clothes, at least not that she wore but she brought some to show Claire and brought her coffee as a thank you.

Ricky was perched on a stool behind the deli counter, basking in what little cool air was being blown his way from a worn out looking fan. Being that he was the only non-psychic and non-magical person in the Bendito household, he was usually the one left to man the bodega. He didn’t mind, he actually enjoyed it. It was nice getting to talk to the different people from his neighborhood, nicer even to get all the free tortas he wanted.

He glanced up when he heard the bell and gave an acknowledging wave to Blossom. He had seen her enough thanks to his sister and her boyfriend, but they weren’t quite “friends” or anything yet.

“Is that for me?” He joked about the iced coffee.

"Only if Claire were to share it with you." Blossom attempted to joke, cheeks a little bit rosy. Although there was Elliot, Ricky still gave her some butterflies. "Are they up in Claire's room?" She asked for clarification.

“Yeah, but don’t mind the smell upstairs. Mami was roasting peppers or something.” Ricky explained as he waved Blossom along.

The Bendito household was a loud chaotic thing. The two upstairs stories above the bodega made up the “house” and was at any given time full to the brim with its occupants. Several small girls ran rampant, each one calling for a different tia by the way of “Mama!”, and dodged passed Blossom. There were a handful of teen girls slouched over one another in the living room, spilling into the hallway leading to the second set of stairs leading to the uppermost rooms. Sure enough, Ricky and Claire’s Mom was perched in the kitchen with her sister Nia peeling peppers. They each looked up and gave a little wave.

Meanwhile, Claire and Clover were in her room, her perched on his lap facing him while she tried to clip up his hair, “practicing” for whenever Blossom showed up. They had a novela playing in the background on her tv.

“Your hair is so damn thick. You keep busting my rubber bands.” Claire clucked.

“You should’ve practiced on someone else.” Clover chuckled.

Blossom let herself in, knocking on the doorframe with a knuckle before striding in and setting down her duffle.

“Thank you, Claire. I appreciate you helping.” Blossom nodded with a soft smile, offering her the iced coffee.

“Nah, it’s best to use you. You and your sister are like copies of each other. Sorta.” Claire had just leaned in to kiss Clover when Blossom knocked. She promptly sat upright and grinned at her would be sister in law.

“Bloss! Are you so excited?” She asked as she peeled of Clover’s lap.

“More nervous than excited.” Blossom chuckled, trailing off nervously.

“Don’t be nervous! He already said yes to the date.” Clover said from his place on the bed.

“Yeah, don’t be nervous! I’m gonna help you get all beauty intensified. He’s going to think you’re an even bigger babe than ever before.” Claire nodded confidently before going over to ran Blossom’s hands, guiding her over to a vanity overflowing with makeup, hair products, and jewelry. “You’re going to be even more banging.”

“I wouldn’t describe myself as banging.” Blossom said as Claire led her over to the vanity.

“Not in that sweatsuit.” Clover commented as he began ruffling through the duffle bag. “What look at we going for, what am I looking for Claire?” Clover asked.

“Something a little more revealing than this tracksuit.” Claire instructed before getting Blossom settled in a chair before the vanity. “Do you mind if I touch up your brows? Do some light waxing maybe? Also how do you feel about false eyelashes?”

“My abs are showing, isn’t that revealing?” Blossom asked. “Uh I’ve never worn false anything so I don’t have an opinion...won’t waxing hurt?”

“Only for a second. Bloss has sensitive skin, you’ll want to use calming wipes after, she’ll get red.” Clover advised as he dumped out the bag and sifted through its contents. “Bloss, some of this stuff is from middle school, it wouldn’t fit even if it were appropriate.”

Blossom flushed. “You know I don’t dress up often...”

Clover feigned a soft smile. “It’s okay. Claire probably has some cool threads you can borrow.”

“Oh! I have that sunflower dress I wore a few weeks ago. That summer dress.” Claire flapped towards her closet. “That and maybe a cardigan. What size shoe do you need? I can ask one of my primas if we can borrow shoes.” Claire said, already getting to work at preparing a wax strip and some wipes.

“I wear like a six and a half?” Blossom answered while Clover moved to the closet, pushing hangers to find the dress.

“What color cardigan?” He asked.
