The girl behind the counter looked at Grey and cocked a brow. It wasn't very typical for anyone, let alone a girl, to come asking for Emerson. Usually, just his younger brother was the one who stopped in.
"I think he's just grabbing his things from the office in the back. He'll be back up soon if you want to wait." The girl gestured to one o the tables, however, before anyone could make another move, Emerson emerged from the back, fussing with the broken strap on his backpack while he walked.
He looked up and instantly lit up upon seeing Grey.
"Grey, you made it!" He signed at her after setting his bag down to do so.

Grey beamed, elated as always to see Emerson. She gave one of her signature run hugs, running up and giving him a hug like always before signing to him.
”Sorry I’m late,” then she noticed his pack. ”What happened to your bag? |

"You're kidding? Well it's a good thing we're seeing it today. It's super good." Grey signed.
She made a slight face then, pausing. She felt fatigued quite suddenly, and not in a normal way. Something felt off, internally speaking.
"Did I remember to take my pill?" Grey mumbled to herself aloud, rubbing her hands together as she began feeling a tingling sensation in her fingers. |

Emerson walked along with Grey, pausing when he noticed her lagging behind a bit. He turned to her, brows furrowed.
"Are you okay?" He asked.

Grey continued along with Emerson, smiling and trying to act like she was okay but she was feeling worse as they walked on. Her skin felt like she was being pricked with pins and needles and her shoulders were jerking.
Unbeknownst to anyone in Canby, Grey has a seizure disorder. It's not necessarily a secret, it's just something that never came up. She took her pills on time everyday and hadn't had a seizure in almost a year. But she was realizing she'd missed her pill several days now, she'd always meant to take it later before bed but that didn't happen.
It couldn't wait any longer. She could feel her her muscles beginning to stiffen before reaching out to touch Emerson on the shoulder, but collapsed onto the ground. Body jerking involuntarily as she lost consciousness. |

Emerson continued on for a while, pausing only when he wanted to sign to Grey, wanting to ask about candy and what not for casual conversation. He blinked when he realized she wasn't right by his side. He turned around to look for her when he noticed that she was not only not by his side, but also on the ground a good while back.
His heart skipped a panicked beat and he let out a frightened sound as he hurried back over to where she was.
"Grey!" He said aloud, his pronunciation off.
