Shika had only been gone for a few weeks, but in that short period of time it was impossible to deny that a lot had happened, or really, very little. So little. Like, the size of a pea pod little, which, as it turned out was not so little at all.

After having approached Grey (and for some reason Irving was involved with this because Grey was) with her dilemma and taking at least five different pregnancy tests, what Wyla held in her uterus was more fortified than your a-typical cryptid.

She was pregnant.

Very pregnant as it turned out when she thought about missed menstrual cycles and what not.

She hadn't wanted to tell Shika over the phone, after all that didn't feel right, so she had decided she would wait until she saw him in New York to tell him. But now that she was actually in New York, leaving the terminal to actually MEET Shika...she was horrified.

What if he wasn't happy? What if this ruined his plans? What if he left her like Bix's father had?

It was all very unnerving, but she tried not to dwell on it as she carried a sleeping Bix off the plane and towards the terminal exit.

Shika had been working hard immediately upon arriving in New York. He wanted to do a good job to make Wyla proud, so it wasn't for nothing. He was making really good money, though he did really well off commissions and freelance art; this was a decent upgrade. All that hard work was already paying off, he was prepared to spoil his girls in New York city!

We was patiently waiting for them, hoping Wyla would recognize him. Normally, it was Shika's norm to...Look like a trash bag, forever rocking the "ready for my SATs" look of baggy everything. But his new job required for him to look like a professional. He had just departed from work for his weekend of fun, so he was still in his " Sunday Best." His hair styled and parted away from his face, snug fitting suit and jacket.

Just in case though he had a sign that read, "Left my heart in Canby, OR."

Bix gave a tired whine in Wyla's arms, which Wyla responded to by lightly bouncing the tot and quietly soothing her as they were jostled and urged forward by the rest of the crowd. She noted a whole mess of people waiting for their loved ones with signs and what not, and if it hadn't been for the sign he was holding, Wyla would have surely looked right over Shika.

Her whole face lit up when she saw him.

"Shika!" She called out, earning another sleepy whine from Bix, but she was simply unable to contain herself.

Shika was looking around, scanning the crowd before hearing his name and rearing his head to the source.

"Wyla!" He beamed, waving his sign and racing to meet her half way.

"Shika, Shika, Shika! Look at you!" Wyla began to laugh-cry with glee as she approached Shika.

"Me? Oh, this? Yeah I know, it's weird huh?" Shika laugh, but also teared up upon seeing Wyla. "Here, let me take her. You must be exhausted!" Shika exclaimed, reaching to take sleepy Bix and relieve Wyla.

"It's different, it's nice too." Wyla laughed, handing over Bix.

Bix practically melted against Shika, as if she were at home.

"Oh I missed this, I started carrying sacks of potatoes around the loft while 'Frozen' plays in the background to feel like home." Shika laughed as Bixley sank into him. "My love, I've missed you so much." He said to Wyla then, leaning down to kiss her.

"I've missed you too." Wyla beamed, standing on the tips of her toes to kiss Shika. "So much...so much."

After a brief kiss, Shika felt much longing. But he couldn't keep them just standing around at the airport. He pulled away, pecking her forehead once before retracting.

"So! Tell me everything, how was your flight? How's everything at home? Work? What have I missed?" He blurt quickly, excitedly, grabbing one of Wyla's luggage with one hand.

"Oh, the flight was just fine, smooth. The food wasn't as bad as most people joke. Um, everything is fine at home." Wyla said, chewing at her lip. She couldn't tell him now, not at the airport.

"That's good, hopefully you can enjoy a little break here with me! I had a lot of stuff planned, but I understand if you would like to keep it lowkey? Relax?" Shika offered.

"No, no, no, lots of stuff is good. I just want to spend time with you." Wyla smiled up at Shika as they walked.

"I thought we could take Bix to the Lego store for sure, and there's this place that makes insane milkshakes; you might like that, I thought. There's also this amazing place in Little Italy for pizza. Of course we have to take Bix to the zoo also." Shika rattled on, excitedly.

"Have you been doing actual work or have you just been planning this whole vacation?" Wyla teased as she looked up at Shika.

Meanwhile, Bix gave a sleepy little groan and picked up her head, turning to look at Shika's face. She stared for a moment before reaching out to touch his cheek, eyes still blurry with sleep.

"Shika?"
