Magda sort of threw up her hands in defeat as well as to gesture to her current state.

“My dress doesn’t fit, and I’ve already packed my other ones! And if this one doesn’t fit, than a lot of them probably don’t! And we’re already late, and I’m hot and tired and I don’t even want to go anymore!” Magda blubbered tearfully, grabbing some tissue then to blow her nose.

"No, no, no, don't cry. Don't cry, Mags." Buck was quick to swoop into the bathroom, crouching down onto his knees right in front of Magda to cup at her face and wipe away her tears as best as he could. "We can take our time getting there, don't worry about that. Everyone will be just as happy to see us two hours from now or two days from now." He assured. "I'm sure we can find a dress that fits for tonight and I'll have Mama call for a tailor to come let the rest of your outfits. Osgar has a handy hob in his employ who can have that done in a night." He nodded and tried to offer her a soft smile. "And if you really don't want to go tonight, we have the cabin all set up so if you want to stay in, we'll get you all set up and take Eloise off your hands so you can rest, alright?"

Magda was very much reassured by Bucks words, but was still feeling overwhelmed by emotion. She sniffed and dabbed at her eyes, as Ezra stepped in the doorframe with Princess Eloise in his arms. His own brows knit with concern when he saw Magda.

“What’s up?” He asked her gently though he quickly deferred to Buck. “Is she okay?”

“No, I’m fat.” She sniffed, still very much upset despite Bucks reasoning.

“You’re not fat, but we’d still love you if you were.” Ezra said somewhat plainly for being concerned.

“I just wanted the dress I picked out in the first place, to go on effortlessly and we could just leave and not worry about anything else.” She said, voice quivering.

“Okay, I hear you. We’ll figure it out, go sit on the bed and chill for a minute. Let me and Buck take care of it.” Ezra nodded. “Do you want Buck to make you a decaf something, help you relax?”

Magda was regaining steady breath though she still sniffled a bit. She looked at Buck somewhat sheepishly, as though it were a big ask for him to make her a drink. “Would you?” She asked.

Buck gave Magda a soft smile, the kind he regularly only saved for her and Ezra, and he stretched up to press his nose to hers while giving her cheeks a little squeeze between his palms.

“Of course I will. You just take a minute and don’t you worry about anything else.” He said to her before getting off the floor then. He offered his hands to help her up.

Magda seemed comforted enough, she took Bucks hand and slowly pulled herself up. She carefully stepped out of her dress as Ezra extended a free hand to help her out of the doorway.

“Can you take Eloise to make coffee? I’ll look through the bags.” Ezra said then to his ginger counterpart.

"Give her here." Buck made grabby hands for little Eloise, who immediately started huffing and puffing as she was forced to part ways with Ezra. Buck tried to calm her with a bounce on his hip and proceeded out towards the kitchen. "Let's make Mama some coffee." He chirped to her.

Soft FF

Buck and Eloise fixed up an impressive decaf cappuccino for Magda. After something warm in her belly as well as some lounging, improved her mood a lot. Ezra had carefully shifted through the dress bags and was careful not to disturb them too much, disrupting the system in which they were packed.

Ezra touched up Magda’s makeup and had her dressed with ease, like most things in life, this was something made easier for her because of her boys.

“Okay! I am ready to party now!” Magda chirped happily as she stepped into a pair of heels.

She took a couple of steps, clipping in an earring as she did. Between the loud tap of her heel, was a splashing sound, of something liquid hitting the ground. Magda paused, brows furrowed in confusion, stunned she continued to clip in her earring. Then it finally occurred to her, her water broke.

“Oh lord..” She sort of gasped, eyes glossing over as the realization set in.

Buck had taken to twirling around the kitchen with Eloise to the sound of the Honky Tonk Angels CD that had taken up residency in an old boom box in the kitchen. She was all giggles and delight at the spinning and the whirling of Buck's cape.

"You hear that, El? Mom is feeling better." Buck chirped to Eloise.

Magda was sort of paralyzed, stunned as amniotic fluid pooled around her feet (of course dampening her skirts as well). Ezra rounded a corner, exiting is own room before pausing and observing Magda, realizing right away what was happening.

“Buck, Magda’s water just broke.” Ezra called in a matter of fact way, already shrugging off his jacket and crossing the room to her, ready to get his hands dirty.

Buck paused for a second, taking in the words, and proceeded to scramble with Eloise bouncing wildly in his arms towards Magda and Ezra.

“No, stop, you’re joking.” He said to Ezra before glancing down at Magda’s wet skirts.

Magda immediately burst back into hot frantic tears as Ezra helped her to sit on the couch.

“We’re gonna mess up the couch!” She cried, because, priorities.

“You’re in labor, I’m not laying you on the floor.” Ezra sort of grumbled, as he pulled up her skirts. He’d only done this once before with Eloise, but he wasn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty, so to speak. He reached up her skirts to check if her cervix was dilated. “I don’t think there’s time to set up the birthing pool.” He uttered again.

Buck nearly dropped Eloise then, but stopped when she let out a loud squawk at him that made him readjust his grasp.

"What do you mean there's no time?" He asked, though it was clear what Ezra meant.

Ezra concentrated as he felt around before pulling back his hand.

“She’s already about four centimeters, contractions are going to start soon.” Ezra explained somewhat calmly. “Are you having contractions yet?” He asked Magda then.

“No! Or no, I don’t think so. I thought they were Braxton hicks!” Magda exclaimed with worry.

“It’s okay, it’s okay, we’re gonna take care of you.” Ezra assured. He then looked to Buck, “you should help her walk around, it will help her dilate more and faster.” He said with a nod.

“Faster? Why faster?” Magda asked, panicked.

“Your water already broke, the fast we get the baby out the better for you both.” He explained. “We’ll have to get you set up in a bed, it’s going to take too long to inflate the birth pool and fill it up.” He added.

After taking a moment to take in and process the situation, Buck nodded and switched to balancing Eloise on his hip to free up a hand as he approached Magda.

"He's right, Mama. C'mon, I'll walk with you." He said, urging her to take his hand.

Magda took Bucks hand and allowed him to help her up from the couch. She appeared anxious, this was all so unexpected. She didn’t feel prepared at all. But she tried to put her faith in her boys, she curled her fingers around Bucks hand and let out a deep exhale before beginning her slow walk around the room.

Ezra began washing his hands in the kitchen sink, sleeves rolled up above the elbows. Once finished he pulled out his phone to dial Bambi, besides being Bucks mother, Magda relied on her heavily as her midwife.
