Buck led Magda around the room, stepping away only to place Eloise on her playmat they had rolled out for her in the corner of the room. He returned to Magda and grabbed both of her hands and continued to make their rounds.

Meanwhile, Bambi was finishing primping in front of her vanity, listening to Roscoe and Osgar babbling back and forth to each other in the room. She was smiling softly to herself as she put the last of the golden oakleaf pins in her hair when she glanced over to see her phone lighting up with Ezra's name. Her brow pinched a bit, wondering if her son's family had hit a snag and was running behind schedule.

"Hello?" She answered.

“Hi! Bambi! I don’t know if you’ve left yet, but Magda’s water just broke here at the apartment.” Ezra said quickly, trying not to panic himself.

Magda was counting her breaths and finally feeling calm, but then her first contraction hit. She let out a pained yelp, and squeezed Bucks hands, sort of falling into him.

"What?" Bambi asked, eyebrows shooting up and eyes going wide with surprise. She didn't wait for Ezra to repeat himself when she heard Magda's cry in the background. She promptly pushed away and stood up from her vanity, rushing out of her room with her silk robes fluttering around her. "How far along is she in her labor? Have you kept times on contractions?" She asked.

Buck caught Magda without hesitation and wrapped his arms around her to brace her better. He rubbed his hands at her back and shushed her in an attempt to soothe her.

"You're doing good, Mama, just breathe." He crooned softly to her as he pressed his nose into the side of her face.

“Her water just broke, and that was her first you just heard.” Ezra explained, before calling over to Buck. “Time her contractions, Buck.”

Magda panted and took some deep breaths through her nose as she collected herself. She braced herself against Buck and began walking a little then. “Ez, you may wanna check my cervix again in a minute.” She called back.

“How soon can you get here?” Ezra asked Bambi then.

"I'll get my bag together right now." Bambi said as she rushed to the closet where she kept her "baby bag". She scrambled around to grab the things she needed. "I can be there in ten or fifteen minutes."

Buck began leading Magda back to the bedroom to get her sorted back onto the bed while Eloise squawked from the other room.

"I'm coming back, El!" He called, though he could hear the little slaps of her palms as she crawled towards the sound of his voice.

“Okay, please hurry. I think this is going to happen fast.” Ezra said before hanging up the phone. He hurried to Eloise, who was making her way towards Bucks voice. Ezra scooped her up and held her on one hip as he rushed to Magda and Buck.

Magda was already easing onto her back, taking quick breaths as she worked through another contraction. She sort of gasped and grunted, trying to wriggled herself free from the sleeves of her dress. Ezra wasted no time, he threw up Magda’s skirts again and rooted around with a free hand.

“Six or seven already…” Ezra sort of estimated, though with one hand, he couldn’t be positive. That’s why he wanted Bambi here, Ezra and Buck would do their best always, but there’s no substitute like a seasoned mother.

Buck was stunned, but managed to keep a facade of collectedness as he went to help Magda get comfortable and adjusted on the bed.

“Okay, okay, it’s going to be alright. I’ll start getting some towels and some water heated. Mama will be here soon to help us out.” He said for both himself and his partners. He reached out to pet at Magda’s cheeks with both of his palms. “What can I get you right now, Mamas? Is there anything? We’ll do whatever we can.”

Magda sort of swat Bucks hands away, sucking in a pained breath as she worked through another contraction.

“Just get the towels.” She choked out, short of shooing him away. “And take Eloise out of here for now, I’ll be fine.” She panted, now shooing Ezra away with baby Eloise.

Things were already moving quickly, Ezra was worried the baby would be born in the fifteen minutes it took for Bambi to arrive. Thankfully, things didn’t accelerate until after Bambi came. At first it seemed Magda was overwhelmed, she didn’t want to be touched much, she just focused on her breathing and changed positions a few times per Bambi’s request.

As it was getting nearer and nearer to those crucial final moments, Magda allowed other hands back in. At first it was just dabbing her face with a cold rag, or rubbing her lower back. But by the time Magda was ready to push, Buck and Ezra were all in, holding up her legs for her while she focused on pushing.

It seemed her was purely ready. With no other complications, Bambi ushered out a round baby boy. Magda slumped onto her back and let out a relieved and almost giddy sob. The boy’s cries filled the air; squawking awkwardly as Bambi carefully placed him upon Magda’s chest.

Buck let out a boisterous and proud laugh with eyes lit like stars as he admired the red faced and crying baby rooting on Magda’s chest. The baby looked much like Eloise did, round and rosy with a thick head of auburn hair. He also looked much like Buck in the more obvious, otherworldly ways like his tail and ears.

Buck continued to laugh as he reached out to touch the baby’s palm, cheesing as little fingers reflexively curled. Without looking away from the babe, he leaned over and pressed several giddy kisses to Magda’s temple.

“Look at him, you both did amazing, Mags!” He beamed.

Ezra was equally teary eyed and in awe of the little baby. He was floored to see another head of auburn hair, with little ears and tails like Bucks. He was absolutely precious, Ezra couldn’t be more proud. He reached down, stroking a thumb lightly across the babes cheek.

“Welcome to the world.” He said quietly, pleased beyond reason.

Magda couldn’t even hear anyone else, but it didn’t change her mood. She was still sobbing tears of joy, smiling and laughing as she helped the baby latch to her breast.

"Good job, Magda. You did so well." Bambi praised as she gave Magda's knee a squeeze, her own face lit up with a smile. "He sounds perfectly healthy, we'll take a better look at him in a bit after you've both had a moment."

Buck continued to peck at Magda's face, finally pulling his gaze from the baby to turn his face, nose pressing into Magda's face.

"I love you. You're so amazing." He said, a smile still in his voice.
