Valentina was never very traditional when it came to Romanian values. She’d help here or there to be respectful but she was quite modern in the way she wasn’t interested in domestic chores. Her parents gave up on her a long time ago in that regard. Hence she sat on the back porch, enjoying an iced beverage while she admired her family’s hard work. In particular, ogling her husband as he chopped wood.

“I think you dropped something, love. Better bend down and pick up whatever it was!” She called, of course just wanting to see that tookus.

Mihai was the sweet babyest brother, though quite tall and bean poley. In spite of his physique, he loved getting out with his siblings and working for their grandfather a bit. Mihai was controversial in nature, a boyfriend, some secret tattoos said boyfriend gave him; tucked away under a collared shirt his grandmother insisted he wore. He’d been in trouble before even for pierced ears though they have since been removed. But with all the stereotypes stacked against him, Mihai was actually a good boy. He loved his family and was happily pushing his big brother around in a wheelbarrow.

“If I we’re to run in circles with this, how quickly do you think you’ll get dizzy?” Mihai laughed.

Rundin looked over his shoulder with a smirk before popping his hip slightly and bending just a bit.

"Oh? Where did I drop it?" He called back, shifting side to side playfully.

"You'd have to go pretty fast I think." Mishka chuckled as he bucked about in the wheelbarrow.

Mishka was the eldest of the three Dalca children and, by far, he had the most likeness to his father in both physical appearance and in the way he acted. He was a tall boy, broad shoulders with a narrow waist. His hair was a dark mop atop his head, curls netted much like his father's. He was often serious, but certainly had a playful side to him, perhaps a testament to his youth or maybe it was just that bit of his mother in him.

Valentina whistled sharply at her husband, shouting some sexually ambiguous English expletives she was sure her parents wouldn’t understand.

“Well I guess it would be how long could I go before your tall arse fell out.” Mihai joked.

“Language! You and your mother!” Sebastian hollared from the shed. Earning a snicker from Mihai and a cackle from their mother.

Rundin chuckled and shook his head, waving a hand at his wife.

"You'll get us in trouble." He playfully tutted.

“Quit playing you two,” Sebastian scolded as he walked up now. Sebastian was not a particularly handsome man, not at all actually. But he was huge, tall and muscular, braid shouldered with large and callused hands. He was nearly bald but had this and robust blonde facial hair. “Elena is probably about done with lunch. You boys should get washed up.” He nodded.

“Okay.” Mihai grinned before dropping the wheelbarrow with a thud.

“Be gentle with my oldest! Go get your sister too. Make sure she doesn’t drop anymore eggs.” Valentina called.

Mishka landed in the wheelbarrow with a "oof!" before toppling out without any grace. He clucked his tongue before scrambling to his feet and reaching over to hastily grab his brother in a playful choke hold.

"Sorry, Tata." Rundin chuckled a bit before setting down the ax so he could go "collect" his wife up from the porch.

Mihai laughed as he was playfully manhandled by his big brother, jogging away and swatting at him as they went to retrieve their sister from the coop.

Astrid was already leaving the coop, having heard her grandfather, but she was still wearing the same bitter expression that she had on when she was put to “woman’s work”. She was much like her mother in the way that she had a definite rebellious streak to her. As far as she was concerned, she was just as strong, if not stronger than both of her brother’s. She could have pushed that wheelbarrow all day. She would have rather done that than collect eggs, but it was an unspoken rule that the kids would do as they were told regardless of what it was while visiting their grandparents. Unfortunately, this also meant tromping about the coop in a tacky peasant dress that Elena had gotten her a few days prior.

“This should’ve been Mihai’s job, he’s the baby brother after all.” Astrid groused.

“That’s because this dress is as ugly and as distasteful as you.” Astrid made a face as she reached out to snatch at Mihai’s tongue.

“Pretty is a term used too lightly. You both have the misfortune of getting Dad’s ugly traits.” Astrid waved her younger brother off before turning to thrust the egg basket into Mishka’s arms. She reached up to push flyaways from her face and began stomping for the porch. “Mama, will you tell Mihai that I’m prettier than him? And can you fix my hair?”

"You're all perfectly average." Valentina nodded from the porch as she beckoned her daughter to her. "Mishka, give your Bunica the eggs before washing up. How do you want your hair, girl?" Valentina spoke to her children.

“Dad says I look like you, that means I must be better than average.” Astrid said before flopping down onto her knees before Valentina, her back to her. “Just tighter braids.” She added.

“Well you’re much prettier than me, but I’m flattered.” Valentina laughed as she took down her hair and begun rebuilding the braid.
