The pause didn’t go unnoticed, moreover, Owen understood it totally.
“Mm...well, it was a little awkward. I told him no, of course, but when he asked me if I was seeing anyone, I wasn’t sure how to answer.” He glanced over his shoulder towards Damien.

Damien turned around to face Owen, leaning back against the kitchen counter.
“Well, how would you want to answer?” Damien asked, reaching to rub the back of his neck bashfully. “I mean, I’ll be honest, I’m not seeing anyone else and...I don’t want to. But, I hadn’t asked what you wanted?” |

Owen flushed a bit and looked away bashfully himself. He rubbed at his upper arm.
“Well...I don’t know. I mean, I like our time together, nights like this. I like you, but...I’ve never really dated anymore, I don’t know what it entails or if I’ll be a good boyfriend or if I’ll like it.” He admitted.

Damien gave a thoughtful nod as he listened, he paused again to contemplate a good response.
“I’ve been a boyfriend before, I guess the important things it entails are being nice to each other, be supportive. But I think you’d have to take the leap to know if you like it.” Damien said. |

| “I do, I’m a romantic person. I like to dote on another person.” Damien began, reaching out to touch Owen, a sort of desperate graze at his arm though it was masked as a more lazy gesture. “I’d like to do it with you.” He finished. |

Owen usually came off as a bit cold and certainly haughty to most people, but when it came to Damien, he was neither of those things. He was all soft edges and easy smiles around Damien, just like now as he practically lit up at the little graze and the question posed.
“You do?” He asked.

Damien pinked a little, his ears felt hot. He always felt attracted to Owen, but moments like this where he appeared earnestly surprised or excited about Damien’s admiration for him made him turn to mush. He smiled and chuckled a little bit, feeling more confident now. His unsure reach from before turned from a question and into an affirmation, he dropped his hands at Owens waist; hooking his finger in a belt loop and giving him a gentle tug closer.
“I do.” Damien answered. |

Owen chuckled as he was coaxed towards Damien with a tug. He allowed himself to be pulled close and he even went as far as placing his palms to Damien’s chest at the affirmation.
“Even if I have to have my mama do my laundry still and can barely cook anything to save my life?” He asked.

“Mm, I’ll just have to ask my mama to start bringing over enough food for two people when she brings me stuff.” Owen chuckled as he went to loop his arms around Damien’s torso, resting his cheek to his chest instead. “Does that mean we’re official now?”
