Jai blinked down at Romano, trying to decide if he should just lay back down or if he should go home or...Wake Romano and confront him about last night, if he remembered anything, if Jai remembered right what he had said. Ultimately, Jai eased back down, rolling on his side to face Romano. He didn’t feel tired anymore, he felt anxious and a little excited, being this close to Romano. However cute Jai thought Romano was normally, he was that much cuter asleep.

Admittedly, now that he AND Jai were both awake, Romano was in a very similar boat, unsure of what to say next or whether or not he SHOULD say anything. For that reason, he kept his face buried for awhile before turning his head just enough to look over at Jai.

"D'you have a headache?" He asked.

“Nuh Uh, I’m okay. Do you want me to get you some medicine? Water?” Romano asked, sitting up then. If Jai remembered what he had said, it wasn’t showing (yet).

Romano was quiet for a moment. Was he supposed to be honest? What if Jai had just said those things drunkenly and didn’t mean them? What if he was embarrassed by what he said?

“Um...not very much.” He lied, cheeks pink.

“Oh,” Jai’s own cheeks pink, a little embarrassed, a little disappointed. Maybe he does remember but doesn’t feel the same way and didn’t want to make Jai feel bad. “Well...What do you remember?” He asked. Jai wasn’t the bold type, had he not had liquid courage last night, who knows what would’ve happened? Romano always struck Jai as a confident person, someone unapologetically honest but still kind; he expected that he’d be honest with him.

"Well, we were talking and...well..." Romano's cheeks burned as he recalled the confession again. It made his heart give a giddy little leap over and over and over again. "You asked me if I meant what I said before, about not letting anything bad happen to you. When I told you yes, you...um...you told me that was what you...loved about me." He said, treading lightly with the words.

Jai’s cheeks were hot, his gaze unwavering. So far it seemed they remembered the same thing, it must not have been a dream.

“And what did you say?” Jai asked.

Romano fidgetted, feeling put on the spot a bit. In truth, he'd only ever gone out with a few people, even then it was extremely casual. He'd never really been on the receiving end of a confession, he'd never had to react, he was usually the one to make the first move, so this was new, it was a bit scary, but also exciting.

"Well... I'm not mad about it." He admitted first. "I've always meant it when I said you were important to me and that definitely hasn't changed or anything. I... don't really know what it means to love someone outside of my family, I've just never been in a place where that was a thing. But I know you're special to me, I know I like spending my time with you, I know I want you to be happy and to have good things, I know I think you're cute... I know that I kind of liked when you said you loved me."

Jai was a little quiet, none of the things Romano said were bad. But Jai wasn’t sure what it meant.

“Okay...What does that mean? Going forward?” Jai asked.

“Really?” Jai exclaimed a bit, cheeks pink and hopeful again. “I mean, are you sure? I don’t want to make you feel like you’re obligated or anything...”
