“I do, I love it.” Sal grinned. “Dad isn’t good at it, but Mama always manages to get him going still and then he’d dance with all of us. I loved Sunday mornings when Mama would get the radio going. What about you?”

Arte pinked, taken aback.
“Huh? I don’t know, maybe? I can’t dance.” Arte was quick to wave her hands in front of her to reject the concept of dancing, with a boy, in front of many people. Sounded embarrassing. But there was a part of her too that thought it might be different if it was with Sal. |

Sal and Arte approaches the dance floor just as one song ended and another began. He placed a hand at Arte’s waist and used the other to hold her hand while he began moving to the rhythm with her. He smiled as he led her through the most basic of movements, stepping away only once to give her a little spin.
“You aren’t bad at all.” He assured her.

| At first Arte was overly cautious of her movements, watching her feet carefully to not step on on Sal’s feet. She was a little unsure at first but by the time Sal spun her once, she let out a startled but excited giggle. Cute but definitely out of character for her, she wasn’t watching her feet now; instead she was smiling up at Sal. This wasn’t so bad or too hard, or maybe Sal made it feel easy. |

Sal let out an amused laugh of his own as he looked down at Arte. She was still a bit stiff, certainly cautious, but he could feel her relaxing and starting to enjoy the dancing. A few other couples whirled around them, each of them wrapped up in their own little world of their own, but Sal could hardly pay them any mind. After all, how could he when he had something as pretty as Arte’s smile in front of him?

| Arte was smiling widely and laughing a little here and there between spins. She was really having fun, and while no one was looking at her or making fun of her, she didn’t pay anyone else any mind. All she could see was Sal, and she was having too good of a time to feel flustered by his gaze or his hand on her hip. |

After whirling about the dance floor for a few songs, the band announced they'd be taking a break but would be back to continue their performance. Sal and Arte both slowed in their dancing until stopping. Sal continued to smile down at Arte, still standing close and holding her hand and hip.
"See? Not so bad, huh?" He teased lightly.
