"Oh, so you only had eyes for me?" Sal joked as he took his own seat across from Arte. A server must have been by their table already as there were two glasses of water and some chips and salsa there waiting for them.

Sal allowed the flecks of water to splash onto his cheeks as he maintained a toothy grin.
"It's okay, I only had eyes for you too." He assured her.

Arte pouted her lips, resisting the urge to call him ‘stupid’ again. It was still hard for her to understand why Sal liked her or would want to look at her; making a conscious effort to trust that he wouldn’t dupe her, or invite her out as a joke. She occupied herself instead with the chips, shoveling it into the salsa. It was easier to eat than to consider challenging Sal yet again on his intentions.
“What are you gonna get?” She asked, changing the subject and nodding at the menu. |

"Mm, I was thinking the chimichanga with the birria. Or maybe the chile rellenos. I really like the batter they put on the chiles here." Sal said as he took the menu to flip through the pages. "They also have pretty good margaritas, if you're interested. Do you drink at all?" He asked, looking up at Arte then.
