It was a good thing they hadn't gotten their coffee yet because immediately upon seeing the image, Sal let out a bark of laughter that certainly would have sent his drink spraying had he had it.
"He looks like he's having a rough day." He said in between his laughter.

"This is what it looks like when someone walks in on you with your pants down, or rather, all your skin down." Sal joked, looking to the serving window when their drinks were called out. He went over to grab them, offering Arte hers as well as her treat. "Should we go? I imagine we'll be fine this early in the day, no big crowds." He said, offering his arm out.

Sal looked down at the offering as they walked and smiled as he craned down to take it from Arte's fingers with his mouth instead of his hand.
"Mm, this is good. Not as good as the ones your mom brings to work though." He commented in between chewing.

| “Eh, watch it!” Arte exclaimed more to herself thigh, as Sal plucked the piece of bread from her fingers. “Nobody really bakes like my mom.” Arte shrugged then, reaching in to get her own piece. |

"I bet you all got spoiled growing up, huh? My mom is a great cook, but never a baker. If we wanted pastries for breakfast, it usually ended up being poptarts. If we were lucky, we'd have leftover cheesy pao." Sal explained.

It’s the only reason Lucinda hasn’t been living off cold raviolis out of the can.” Arte replied. “Your Dad got those donuts one time. I spent New Years with you guys one time, your Dad went out and got donuts for breakfast New Year’s Day.” She recalled. |

“That’s only because Lucinda likes donuts and shes his secret favorite.” Sal chuckled. “Whenever he’s visiting the city, he always brings her donuts, especially now. And then when he doesn’t, I do. Because it can’t be easy being pregnant and she deserves it.”
