"You mean you don't like hanging out with all your mom's wolves?" Mishka teased lightly as they rounded a corner and came up on their hotel. It wasn't the Ritz, but it was a nice enough place. Mishka made sure to spend enough money to make it worth getting the room for them, to make it comfortable and a little bit fun.

“Not really,” Lua laughed, the laughter trailing as they came upon the hotel. “I don’t think I’ve ever been to a hotel before.” She commented.

"Really? You guys don't stay in the city at all?" Mishka asked, a little but surprised, but also not at the same time. "I mean, I guess I haven't stayed in many either. Once we stayed in a hotel in France when our flight home got cancelled because of weather. And we stayed at the resort one time when our parents took us to Disneyland."

“Not really. I think we did maybe when I was younger. But I usually take the train home by myself if everyone else ends up staying.” Lua explained.

“Maybe.” Lua smiled softly as they entered the hotel.

It’s about what she expected, spacious and especially clean; the linoleum floor gleaming under the fluorescent lights. Her nostrils twitched and she fought back a sneeze, hyper aware of the bleach used in the dining area. They probably had just closed the dining area and finished cleaning up.

Mishka went to the front desk and got them checked in before returning to Lua. He gestured for them to head to the elevator, looking at the number written on the keycard envelope.

"We're on the 46th floor. We should have a pretty good view." Mishka explained with a smile as they got into the elevator. "Do you need to get changed or anything or are you ready to head over to the night market?" He asked her, though he was sure with it being Lua that she was ready to go as she always was.

“No, unless you think I should change.” Lua said but it wasn’t really a question. She watched the numbers go up at the top of the elevator, 46 was pretty high up. “What if there’s a fire and we’re all the way up at the top?” Lua asked. Though it wasn’t a question out of genuine concern, it was just how Lua’s brain worked.

"No, I think as long as you're comfortable, you're fine." Mishka said about Lua's clothes, followed by a thoughtful hum. "Then I guess we have a lot of stairs to take down. Should I ask for a lower floor next time?"

“I mean, if you’re worried. I feel like you’d get tired, right?” Lua asked, it was meant to be a joke, but sometimes Lua’s humor missed the mark.

"It might surprise you, but I'm in pretty good shape." Mishka clucked his tongue and bumped Lua lightly with his arm. It was still taking some getting used to, but Mishka was able to understand some of Lua's humor, just like he was still mastering the art of understanding her thought process in general. She was impractically practical, straightforward, but not in the traditional sense.

“Assuming you eat other things besides your New York pizza, I think I’ll be okay.” Lua teased as the elevator dinged, the doors opening on their floor.

“I don’t know, my mom cooks pretty hearty meals.” Mishka joked as he led them to the room. He opened up the door and let himself and Lua inside.

It was a mice room, as Mishka had expected for the price. The whole far wall was made up entirely of windows that reflected the city lights starting to flicker and glow with the coming of twilight. Right by the door was the bathroom that looked like it had a “hot tub” tub with a few robes folded up and presented on its edge. There was only one bed, which surprised Mishka a bit, but it looked lush and lavish.

Mishka dropped his bag on the floor out of the way.

“What do you think?” He asked.
