“I bet there’s a streak of mischief in you somewhere though. You’re related to Ava after all.” Yoo In teased playfully, though he reeled in his smile a bit when he saw Ava glaring his way.

“Nope, she’s sweet as can be.” Ava said before strolling over. She leaned over the back of the couch and messed with Manon’s hair affectionately. “You ready to go?” She asked.

“Sure,” she chirped before turning back to Yoo In. “It was nice meeting you.”

“You too, Manon.” Yoo In smiled pleasantly again, despite Ava’s warning shot of a glare. “Maybe I’ll see you around.”

Private school was on a similar schedule to the standard classes, Monday through Friday and about seven hours if you didn't have an extracurricular. However Manon had many extracurricular's, skating and harp, piano and fencing, she was even taking Spanish four (it wasn't fair to let her take French). She had things all day, all throughout the city. From before the sun was even up and all the way til dinner time. Manon didn't mind it though, she was a born overachiever with great ambitions. Harvard Law and nothing less, and yearbook and glee club weren't going to get her there. It was Saturday evening and she'd been at her different activities all day, she had just finished up with her skate lesson and was trying to make her way home.

Normally, JJ sent a car for her or organized transportation for her; a driver rented for the day. But there was some major clean up going on on the surface, the aftermath of some supernatural riots; roads were still being repaired from the wreckage. So underground was the only way to travel to where she needed to go and didn't want to burden her Dad with figuring out something else. Manon dragged her duffel behind her, weighted down by skates and books and bought her metro ticket, chin up; proud and confident. She could speak three different languages, play three different instruments and was second place with the mathletes for three years in a row (Lucita was first), surely she could figure out how to navigate the subway.

She'd ridden it a handful of times before, but each time was with Ava and Lucita, who pretty much lead the process for Manon from start to finish; what train to get on, what car to avoid and where it was okay to sit. This time she was alone, standing on a platform and desperately to look through the throngs of people for a map. It was feeling more and more like a hopeless task. The crowd at the platform was packed so tight, the body heat was the only thing keeping Manon warm as she was under dressed for the day and missing a much needed jacket.

"Excuse me.-" Manon's tiny voice didn't travel far, evaporating as the words left her mouth. But just as quickly as they swarmed, a train appeared long enough for the school of bodies to shift suddenly. Manon got pushed around a little bit, but as they bodies disappeared she felt a weight lifted.

Literally, the strap of her bag must've gotten caught on something and snapped, and dropped on the cement.

" Oh déranger..." Manon uttered with a deflated sigh as she crouched down to gather up the bag in her arms.

For as long as he could remember, Yoo In and his brothers had always been on the outside looking in. They had been born just after the "big bang" in New York and were brought up in a time where growing up as a supernatural meant growing up where being one's truest self was the greatest danger. He and Il Soon had the luxury of being human passing, but their brother and adoptive father were not. They witnessed horrible things being done to the both of them (not to mention having been orphaned presumably via hate crime) and then they had to grow up without Ki Moon when he disappeared under extremely mysterious and suspect circumstances.

It was undeniably their turbulent youth that made them into the young men they were as well as decided what actions they would take to make sure that nothing bad ever happened to them or supernaturals like them ever again.

Il Soon and Han were across town at a meeting, organizing and preparing for yet another protest, while Yoo In was tasked with dropping off some sensitive documents at the other side of the city. He had just finished up and was ready and eager to get home, hoping to beat his brothers and roommates home for the sake of getting to the leftover pizza in the fridge first. He hopped over the turnstile, knowing no one was really going to stop him this late in the day, and headed downstairs to the subway platforms. As he made his way towards the loading area, he happened to catch a quick glimpse of someone familiar. He paused and squinted before recognizing the girl gathering her things as Ava's cousin.

He began towards her.

"Hey!" He hollered in greeting.

Manon didn't really hear the yell, there was a lot of sounds happening and she wasn't expecting to be approached by anyone. Maybe if she bumped into her cousins, but they'd probably throw something at her or pinch her butt than just yell. She didn't even here the, "Hey mami~!"over her head. She did however notice a pair of shoes nudge hers, jolting her a bit (Manon was quite petite). It was some man with a slim physique and had a long face. He was quite a deal taller than her, but more importantly, she didn't recognize him.

"Oh I'm sorry, am I in your way or...?" Manon sputtered politely, thinking he was confronting her about something wrong she'd done.

The man chuckled.

"Nah, I'm sorry. I don't usually do this butt I just saw you and had to get your number." He said, already offering a cell phone out to her.

Manon looked confused and then surprised.

"Oh I'm sorry, I don't think I should be giving out my phone number. I don't know you." Manon said plainly but also with earnest.

"Why, you got a boyfriend?" He asked.

"No, I just don't want to." Manon insisted but without any confidence, waving her hands in front of her to try to shoo the man away.

Yoo In furrowed his brows as he watched a man approach Manon before he could make his own way over. He watched the exchange for a moment, wondering if (on the off chance) she knew him, but when it became clear that she didn't, he hurried his pace. Ava didn't want anyone getting cozy with her cousin, but he imagined she would like no one helping her in a time of need like this even less.

"Oh come on, why not?" The guy insisted.

Manon exasperated repeated the motion of putting her hands up and trying to maintain distance between her and the man.

"I don't to." She insisted, looking around for help when she spotted a familiar face. It was Yoo In, Han's brother. They'd only met once but it looks like he was running over, would he help her?

Yoo In didn't hesitate in his approach, in fact, he went a little bit faster when he saw Manon glance up and notice him it seemed. He promptly approached and went ahead and placed himself between Manon and the man.

"Hey, man, I don't think she's interested in continuing the conversation. I think you should move on." He said.

"Okay, okay. I didn't know she had a boyfriend, it's cool." Now the guy was putting his hands up in defense, already baking up and away from Manon and Yoo In. Manon immediately sighed with relief as she watched the man continuing farther away.

"Ah you saved me." Manon chuckled a little. "Thank you, I didn't know how that was going to end."

"Saved is a bit steep." Yoo In chuckled a little himself and crouched to help gather the rest of Manon's things. "But I'll take it." He grinned as he offered them out to her. "Is Ava with you?" He glanced around.

“No, I’m on my own today. Maybe you could help me? I’m not sure what train I’m supposed to get on?” She asked, accepting her belongings.

“Yeah, sure. I can do that.” Yoo In nodded with a grin. He was sure if Ava was around, not even this would be allowed. “Where are you headed? I can ride with you and make sure you get there in one piece and harassment free.”

“A Manhattan girl? Fancy.” Yoo In teased playfully. He looked up when he saw a train coming down the tracks and features for Manon to follow him to the loading line along the tracks. “What were you doing all the way in this neighborhood?”
