“I have been and I am. I’m never sad about going to Paris and Milan, I don’t even get jet lagged anymore.” Asha shrugged. “I see your Dad sometimes, when we’re all doing something high fashion, there’s not really time to talk though.”

"Oh, you should definitely make more of an effort to talk to him while you're both away on work. He's very fond of you and your siblings. He'd definitely treat you to dinner or any meal really." Adrik smiled. "Plus, he's very lonely when Mama can't go with him."

"Busy, very busy. And happy, always happy, but also always trying to be happier." Adrik admitted with a nod. "Work eats up a lot of my time, but I try to make an effort to do things I like. I try to make as much time as possible for my family too. Especially little Ivan. He's graduating high school this year, you know? It's a very critical time for him."

“You sound so grown up saying things like that,” Asha chuckled. “Owen’s one of the more put together of my siblings, he doesn’t need anything from anyone.” She explained.

"I am grown up, Baby Asha." Adrik said playfully.

As they pulled into the alley where the backdoor to the Chinese restaurant where Peter lived above lay, Adrik looked out and saw Peter already outside, walking to the car to help get Asha out. As soon as the door opened, he began with his questions.

"It's not silver, is it?" He asked.

“No, an ordinary bullet.” Asha answered.

Peter looked over Asha quickly, noting the injury was in her leg and visibly relaxed upon seeing it wasn't too detrimental.

"I'll get it out for you right quick then. You'll be in and out in no time." He nodded reassuringly as he helped her out of the car with Adrik then.

They made their way up to the apartment and from there to the little back room that served as Peter's work space more or less. Adrik had been born in the very bed Asha was helped onto when they reached it.

"I have a local anesthetic, but it's still not going to tickle." He warned Asha as he went straight away to getting on some gloves after having laid out his supplies within arms reach on a little rolling table. He glanced towards Adrik and gestured with his brows.

Adrik furrowed his own brows before realizing Peter was telling him to offer up his comforts. Without saying anything, he reached out and offered his hand to Asha to take as she pleased.

Asha went ahead and took Adrik’s hand, she took a breath and tried to relax her body before nodding.

“I’m ready.”

Though he warned Asha to prepare for the worst, Peter was a seasoned doctor and had seen his fair share of bullet wounds from the Nikitin brood alone. He worked quickly and with gentle hands. In what felt like hardly no time at all, he'd fished out the bullet, stitched Asha up, and gently cleaned off the area.

"I'll give you something to take the edge off for tonight and tomorrow. It should heal up rather quickly though. If pain persists, don't hesitate to call." Peter instructed with a bob of his head. "No scarring is expected." He joked before getting up to go to the other room to presumably get the medication he spoke of.

Adrik grinned at Asha then.

"No scarring, that's good news." He said.

Asha had a decent tolerance for pain, but Peter was right that it wouldn’t tickle. Though he was gentle, Asha still tensed and squeezed Adrik’s hand throughout when it was particularly uncomfortable. She let out a long exhale when it was done.

“Even if it did, nothing a little airbrushing couldn’t hide.” She sighed, loosening her grip on Adrik’s hand though she hadn’t let go.

"I suppose that's true." Adrik nodded. "Do you still live at home with your family or do you have your own place here in the city? Where should I take you after we're done here?" He asked her.

“I have an apartment in the city, thankfully. I’m not trying to travel six hours to Aurora.” Asha said.

"That's good. I don't know that they'd let you on the train with your dress all bloodied up like that anyway." Adrik teased. "Can I take you home?"
