Grey was holding Emerson's hand, almost skipping towards the restaurant with a pleased grin on her face. While the pregnancy was a surprise, Emerson took it well and gave Grey enough reassurance about it so she could live her day to day as usual. Shika had invited them to go on a double date with him and his new 'friend' Wyla.

Grey had never been on a double date, but was excited to participate and get to know a girl that Shika was interested in. Which Grey wasn't positive until he had asked that Shika wasn't just asexual.

"Are you excited?" Grey asked Emerson, nudging him with her arm to get his attention.

Emerson looked down at Grey upon feeling the nudge and gave a broad smile and a nod.

"Always excited to be wherever you are." He signed haphazardly since his hand was occupied with holding Grey's.

Since finding out Grey was pregnant, things had both changed and not changed at all with the two of them. Of course, as always, Emerson was confident and proud of his feelings for Grey and she seemed to feel the same way, however, things felt different knowing that if things went smoothly over the next several months there would be an addition to their little duo. It almost felt surreal, but nice all at once.

While Emerson and Grey made their way up to the restaurant, Wyla was already waiting outside for Shika. She'd heard him mention his "couple-friends" and thought it would be nice for them to all get together to maybe...compare the two relationships in a way. Wyla was pretty sure that she was falling for Shika, however, neither of them had made the press to make it official, so Wyla was curious to see the dynamic between his two friends, see where perhaps they were lacking where Emerson and Grey weren't so she and Shika could rectify that because...dammit, she liked him and she wanted this to work out.

"Boo." Shika said suddenly as he appeared and pecked Wyla on the cheek. He had shown up earlier but thought he had time to run in and use the bathroom. Which he did, had there not been a line already. "Sorry to keep you waiting." He said then.

"Oh look, I see them." Grey said pointing at the twosome before waving.

Wyla jumped at Shika's sudden appearance, but further responded with a pleased laugh as she turned to face Shika then.

"You scared me!" She said, face scrunching up with a smile.

Emerson gave a little wave of his own as they approached the other "couple".

"Sorry, I couldn't resist." Shika laughed, placing his arm around her shoulders to pull her close to him. "Hey guys." Shika waved then seeing Grey and Emerson, walking up onto the pavement.

Grey smiled eagerly,"Hey you must be Wyla, my name's Grey." She said, extending a hand out to Wyla.

"Yeah, I figured. Shika's told me about you guys." Wyla smiled, taking Grey's hand and giving it a shake. She turned to Emerson and pulled out the only sign language she knew. "Hello, nice to meet you, I'm W-Y-L-A."

Emerson, always pleased when someone signed to him, grinned and signed back as slow and as simply as he could.

"Nice to meet you, Wyla. I'm Emerson." He beamed.

"That's great, you sign?" Grey asked aloud as well as signed.

"Not too much. I've gone in and helped at the school my daughter goes to and they try to teach them little things here and there." Wyla explained.

"Was it busy when you came inside earlier?" Wyla asked, looking up at Shika as they all proceeded into the building.

"It was, but I'm glad I called ahead of time." Shika said before leaning down. "They don't actually do reservations or hold tables, so if it comes up it's your birthday." He whispered.

"You sneak!" Wyla laughed, glancing up at Shika. "Whenever we make it to Pete's Diner, because it'll happen, I'm telling them it's YOUR birthday so we can get some birthday pie."

"Date night tradition I can get behind." Shika smiled.

The hostess met them at the front and quickly escorted them to a table near the back. It was pretty busy, and there was a lot of people a noise; but the booth was tucked away in it's own quiet corner. She left four menus before leaving them to wait for their server.

Emerson slid into the booth and kept his arm raised for Grey to tuck herself under it as per usual. Wyla couldn't help but watch them and think to herself hopefully.

Grey slid in and into Emerson's arm, nestled in close like she had always belonged there. Shika slid in on the other side, smiling up at Wyla and patting the space on the seat next to him.
