“Yawn.”
Irene gave a big stretch, arching her back off the bed before flopping back down onto her mattress. She blinked her eyes open, scratching her stomach under her nightshirt idly while she thought about getting up and ready for the day. Her room was of average size but pretty empty. There was some mint and lavender plants growing in the window about her bed. It was a modest queen size mattress, no headboard, all white sheets and comforters with a pastel pink quilt lazily draped at the foot of the bed. She had a nightstand by her bed with an analog clock on it, ticking but no alarm. Irene lived mostly off of what her parents left behind for her in terms of savings. But she did alright on her own, she grew all her own produces and herbs. She grew them all at home and harvested them for her own uses but sold a lot at farmers markets. She did her own fishing as well but fish didn’t sell great most of the time though.
The real trade she picked up from her parents, the real door turner in terms of business though, was werewolves.
Irene and her family had zero history of supernatural blood in their legacy. However, historically, Irene’s family had always been aware of Lycanthropes and made it their business to help any out. That meant patching up, delivering ‘puppies’, food and shelter, sometimes donating clothes. In Irene’s case, it meant dragging nude strangers home. She put him up on her dining room table, patching him up only to have him be mean to her and for some reason lurk around her house for several days afterward.
She climbed out of bed and squinted as she looked outside for signs of her wolfman. She couldn’t believe someone could be so ungrateful after being rescued, she was even more blown away by him hiding around her house. The forest surround her home was dense, the idea is to be isolated. But he wasn’t doing a great job of hiding when he was six feet from her porch.
Not seeing him at that moment she went ahead and got changed to go out and get to her daily chores. |

"You owe her some sort of thank you, 'Dre, bring her some flowers or something."
Nevandre had spent the better part of his recovery listening to his sister insistent nagging (after her initial wailing about how he could be DEAD, which, he obviously wasn't) about going to thank the woman who'd "saved" him despite his confidence that he eventually would have been able to save himself.
He'd been up to the woman's cabin several times in the passed few weeks, but for some reason she made him more than just a teensy flustered. Maybe it was her no nonsense attitude, maybe it was because she already deemed him ungrateful.
Or maybe it was because of those pretty green eyes, or the way she smelled like fresh herbs, or... no, it was none of that. It definitely had to be her equally sour attitude towards him.
Yes, that had to be it.
But, nonetheless, after hearing his sister gripe at him some more, even getting her husband to side with her (as much as Navrik WOULD side with her given any sort of like-confrontation), here Nevandre was, wringing a bouquet of flowers (picked by Havania even) in his hands as he bitterly hid in the thicket, wondering when and how to make his approach. He almost wanted to just throw the flowers in through her window and be done with it, but that wasn't proper etiquette or whatever.
So he'd wait until he knew she was up so he could approach her then. He'd hide until then though. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts. |

Irene had brushed out her hair and put on her dad's old white button up and lazily tucked it into her levi jeans. She rarely wore shoes anyways, today was no different as she propped open her front door and screen door before stepping out onto her porch. She grabbed her watering can and began spreading the love over the garden in the front.
Still tired, she wasn't looking for the mean man she saved recently. But she knew he was there, somewhere. But she rubbed her eyes and kept on, reaching down occasionally to weed dandelions from her lilies of the valley. |

Nevandre watched the woman closely as she milled about her little garden as she always did. Having grown up in the city, this sort of lifestyle was certainly different to him so he was somewhat fascinated by it.
Or maybe he was enamored by the woman.
No. No that wasn't it.
Nevandre shook off the thought, the sheer idea ludicrous, when he heard a low, defensive growling from the other side of the thicket where one of the woman's dastardly wolf "companions" snarled at his hiding spot.
"Go on...get." He murmured quietly at the wolf. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts. |

Irene heard the growling too, she knew it was one of her 'regular' wolf companions. Growing up, it wasn't just werewolves who they helped, regular ol' none human shifting one's too. Grey wolves are an endangered species, Irene's family recognized that. So they did they're best to make sure the wolves were getting tagged, vaccinated and fed with the caribou migrated. They came and went as they pleased though, migrating often still. But once in awhile, pups, elders and sickly ones hung around. But there were a couple in particular who were fond of Irene.
"Kapugen." Irene scolded without turning around. "It's fine." The growling stopped, but the large grey male appeared from the brush. He was whining at Irene, behaving anxiously because he didn't like the stranger either. |

Nevandre pursed his lips into a tightly puckered formation, wondering if Irene had heard him and wondering if he should just come out. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts. |

Kapugen kept romping around Irene, who chose to ignore him. Then Kapugen knocked her watering can out of her hand. Now, visibly irritated Irene called into the brush.
"Come out or go away, you're bothering him." She called. |

Nevandre remained quiet for a second before speaking up.
"Yeah...well...he bothered me first." He said in typical "combative" fashion. He continued to wring the flowers. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts. |

"Okay, well this is kind of more his place than yours so..." Irene replied, throwing her hands up and shrugging. "What do you want? Are you hungry? I have...Do you want some day old bread or something?" She offered, still unsure why the guy was hanging around. |

"What? No." Nevandre made a face as he emerged from the thicket, brushing himself off from twigs and such except for a lone leave tangled in his hair. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts. |

Irene crossed her arms and pursed her lips. Irene was historically nice, but she was by no means soft; specifically, she was not a doormat. So when her rescuing this man was met without gratitude, she put on her no nonsense hat and has been wearing it sense then. Kapugen continued to whined and growl at the man, standing between Irene's legs.
"Okay, why are you here then?" She asked again. |

Nevandre felt his face quirking into "that face", the face his sister said looked so muito feio on him, and he tried to stop it at just a tight frown.
"I...I was in the area." He lied, trying to tuck the flowers behind his back. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts. |

Irene made a face, that face when someone isn't making any sense and your face kind of pinches. She knew he was lying, he wasn't very good at it but it also didn't make sense. This wasn't exactly an area you could be 'casually' in the area.
"Alright, and?" She pressed. |

Muito feio.
Nevandre's face threatened to twist further, but he continued to try and hold the expression at bay.
"I just thought I'd make sure you didn't get eaten by your dogs here." He said, clearly the type to be asinine under pressure. _________________ Butts n' butts n' butts n' butts. |

"Weirdly, you're the only dog here." Irene countered, face pinching further. |
