Polina let out a little, contented laugh as Alexei burrowed against her. She wrapped an arm around his shoulders and cradled the back of his head in her hand. She ran her fingers over the shorn hair at the nape of his neck and turned her head just enough to press her nose to his dark hair.

“Did you sleep alright?” She asked him.

Alexei peeked out beyond her flaxen hair to answer her.

“Yes.” He answered, he lied, since he had not slept yet. It didn’t disturb him at all though, he was happy to stay up and just be near her. “Did you sleep alright?” He asked her then.

“I did. It was a deep sleep.” Polina nodded before a cheeky smile curled the corners of her lips. “Perhaps because someone wore me out.” She teased before settling against him again, her head pillowed on his shoulder. “Is it always like that?” She asked after a beat.

“Like what, любимец?” Alexei asked, allowing her to get settled against him. He kept an arm wrapped around her shoulders, his free hand pulled the blanket so it kept her covered.

Polina pinked a little and made a vague hand gesture in the cramped space between them as she tried to find the right words.

“Intense?” She said, but quickly added on, “In a good way, though.”

Alexei released a somewhat bashful laugh. He had heard of course, in his lifetime, that he was a spirited lover if nothing else. It wasn’t something he was shy about, but he felt shy about it now.

“Uh well, it can be. I could, do it differently next time.” He suggested.

“Different how?” Polina asked, taking a moment as the flush on her cheeks deepened and she bashfully lowered her gaze. “Will different…be good?” She asked.

Alexei contemplated how to answer that, he didn’t really have it in mind when he offered it.

“I guess it depends, is there anything you would’ve changed about last night?” He asked her, turning to face her better. “Did you like everything I did to you?”

Polina chuffed a little laugh and reddened, her gaze still turned down from embarrassment. She reached up to run a finger over a line of dark ink on Alexei's chest and up to his collarbone.

"I...well, yes. I liked it...very much." She admitted. There was a brief pause then and she lifted her gaze to peer up at him then. "And you? Did you like it?"

Alexei smiled down at her affectionately, catching her hand as it traced the lines of a tattoo.

"I liked it, more than I've liked anything." Alexei said, which sounded playful, but he meant it sincerely. "I hope to do it all again very soon." He said before kissing the top of her head.

Polina practically preened under Alexei’s soft affections, lips curling into a warm smile and eyes crinkling with it.

“Me too, but not too soon. I think we should at least go home and check on Mama first and maybe make some breakfast second.” She said.

“Do you think she’ll be mad at me? For keeping you overnight?” Alexei asked, eyes somewhat guilty and apologetic. Alexei knew Marina’s mind was its own master, maybe she wouldn’t have noticed or if she did, maybe she forgot. But Alexei still cared, he would do it again in a heartbeat, but he still worried about disappointing Marina.

Polina let out a thoughtful little hum and then reached up to card her fingers through Alexei’s hair.

“I don’t think so. You’re bringing me home safe, that’s what she cares about most.” She said, smiling still as she lilted her shoulders in a shrug. “Besides, she likes you.”

“She does?” Alexei piped up with excitement. “Did she say that? That she liked me?” He asked her for confirmation. It had been noted that Alexei was more than fond of Marina, he respected her a lot and he hoped she liked him enough.

“If that’s true, we shouldn’t keep her waiting.” He said then, throwing the blanket off of them then.

Polina let out a squealing laugh and she attempted to cling the flat sheet to her. She might have let Alexei have his way with her, many ways even, but she wanted to at least feign some attempt at modesty.

"Wait! I don't have clothes on yet!" She laughed.
