"Alright." Wyla took the cup and hopped off the table, going over to Shika and Bixley. She stooped down to kiss Bixley's forehead. "Be good for Shika, I'll be right back." She assured.
"Okay, go pee in you're cup." Bixley said, waving her mom off.

After Wyla returned and got settled on the table, Dorothy disappeared for a minute before coming back with an updated chart.
"Well, congrats. If it wasn't one hundred percent for sure before, I can confirm you're definitely pregnant. Somewhere around 10-12 weeks." Dorothy smiled before sitting back down in her chair and revealing some kind of handheld machine. It was small and square, it had headphones and a wand attached to a cord. "You're far along enough for your first ultrasound, but that will be scheduled separately sometime after your second examination. What we're going to do now, is hear your baby's heartbeat." Dorothy smiled, putting her headphones in. |

Shika was grinning before leaning down to Bixley. "Do you hear that? You're going to be a big sister."
"Alright Miss Wyla, lean back for me and lift your shirt." Dorothy instructed before scooting next to the table. |

Meanwhile, Wyla laughed at that and went to lean back, rolling up her shirt to get it out of the way.

"Why?" Shika repeated. "Just because you are, you're not excited?" Shika asked.
Dorothy pressed the wand onto Wyla's belly, probing around before unplugging her head phones so the whole room could hear. There was a strange sort of white noise at first.
"It can be tricky to pick up at first, just gotta find where the little guy is." She muttered, still moving the wand around before finding a heartbeat. Fast and loud, almost whirring. Dorothy smiled and nodded, "there it is." |

"It's growing, in Momma's tummy. The sound you're hearing is their heartbeat." Shika explained patiently.
Dorothy continued to smile as she moved the wand around, moving on the parallel side to the original heartbeat, there was another. She made a face before glancing around the room. She moved back to the original spot and heard that heartbeat again before jumping back to the other, sounded the same but the pacing was different; not an echo.
"There's two." She said curtly. |

| The doctor kept shifting from one heartbeat to the next. "Yes, there's two heartbeats. Twins." She said, not sure if the woman was excited or not. |

| "I heard." Shika said, smiling still although it was somewhat faltering. He was still excited, he didn't mind two babies but he could sense that Wyla had some anxiety about the situation. |

"We...I wasn't expecting two." Wyla admitted, though, she did recall Shika mentioning the fact that twins did in fact run in his family.

| "I was and wasn't," Shika shrugged. "I mean, it'll be hard. But the good news is I already work from home on my own schedule. I can recruit my sister when we need more hands; we can do it." Shika nodded. |
