Grey sniffed, trying to pull herself together as she got up.

"Can we still get food, I'm not supposed to eat before the epidural but like...If I'm not there I don't think it counts." She asked.

"I suppose since we're leaving the house anyway we can go to that deli you guys like?" Irving asked, already unzipping the couch cushions. "I can call Auggie, see if he'll drive us."

As soon as Irving cleaned up the couch, as he said he would, he rummaged through his brother's clothes before finding something that fit him halfway decent, although he did have to roll up the legs on the sweats he was wearing considering his brother's height versus his own. He had called August while he rounded up the hospital bag and what not, simply getting everything ready before Grey could emerge from the bathroom and fuss.

August arrived, sleepy eyed with atrocious bed head. He had just worked a double but still could not fail, rolling out of bed to help his kind of boyfriend in need. He yawned, offering his arm out to carry things as Grey shuffled out of the bathroom, appearing in mild discomfort.

"The contractions are starting, they're not too painful and like, eleven minutes apart?" She announced.

"Okay, that's good, I mean, they're still far enough apart. We'll just get you to the hospital and everything will be fine." Irving said as he practically dumped the hospital and baby bags into August's arms so he could go over to Grey and help her shuffle about if needed.

August fumbled a little bit but regained his footing, loading everything into the car as Grey leaned on Irving to get into the beat up little bug.

"It's a good thing you're having the baby today, huh? Any bigger and we wouldn't have gotten you in the car." Irving said, trying to make light of the situation still, although, inside, he was definitely screaming hysterically.

The hospital was quick to get Grey back and it felt like a blur, nurses rushing around her and getting her prepared the push. August was waiting to send Emerson and her family up at the door, unsure when they would arrive. Irving dabbed her forehead with a cold washcloth while waiting for a call or text from his brother.

"Alright, dear. It's time, you're going to have to push." The delivery nurse instructed, putting Grey's legs up in the stirrups.

"Have you heard from him?" Grey asked Irving, looking up hopelessly at her best friend.

The Newman's private plane practically cut their travel time in half. Whipping in front of the hospital in the cab the grabbed from the air port, Marnie reached into her bag and threw a wad of money into the passenger seat before leaping out of the car with her son in law in tow. Running into the lobby, August greeted them with visitor passes.

"Floor three, labor and delivery, you're already on the list. They're expecting you, security up top with escort you to her suite." August explained.

"Not yet, Grey, but he's gonna get here soon, I'm sure. I'll...stay with you. Even if it gets gross." Irving said, still doting on Grey.

Emerson watched August's mouth closely, although his mind was far too fuzzy with adrenaline to make much sense of it. He saw "3" and "labor and delivery" and bolted off ahead of everyone else to get to an elevator.

He practically dove into the first one that became available and helplessly smashed the third floor button until the door closed and he began up. Once the doors were open he hurried out.

"Gwey!" He hollered, though, that was pointless as he wouldn't be able to hear her call back.

A security officer stopped Emerson, no one is allowed into labor and delivery without a pass of their name on the list.

"What's your name and who are you hear to see?" He asked.

Emerson still struggled to follow anyone's lips but he looked at the officer and repeated Grey's name.

"Gwey Noomun. I'm Emahson, boyfwend." He sputtered.

The officer nodded before handing him a pass.

"Room C4." He enunciated.

Emerson nodded vigorously before hurrying off again with the pass in hand. He scanned the numbers and letters posted on the various doors in the labor and delivery wing until he found C4. He couldn't help himself as he stumbled, quite literally, inside.

"Emerson!" Grey could hardly believe it, he made it! Just in time. Overcome with emotion, in particular relief, Grey began to weep.

"I'm sorry girl but there's no time, get in here dad! Hold up this leg, best friend, you take the other one." The nurse instructed.
