“I know, I know.” Han grinned as he set Ava back down on her feet, though he kept her still in his arms. He smiled as he leaned back down to kiss her. “How was your day? Did you do anything fun?” He asked.

“I don’t know if shooing the boys out of the house is fun, but I mostly did that today. Although I don’t know if Romano counts since he’s just next door.” Ava shrugged before tugging on the collar of his shirt. “You look cute, whose shirt is this?” She asked.

“Olezka’s so don’t even think about trying to steal it from me.” Han teased between his schmoozing. He was content to keep kissing Ava, but was stopped by a harsh thud on the window just beside him and Ava. Romulus was glaring out at him, adorned in the apron Ava had made him one Father’s Day years ago.

Ava sort of frowned and waved her hand at her Dad but put a sliver of space between her and Han, though it hardly mattered now.

“Well it looks good on you,” she commented, touching the front of his shirt briefly. “Let’s get inside before my Dad is forced to come out here, hopefully you’ve got Kevlar under your shirt.” She said before taking his hand and guiding them inside.

“I can’t imagine Kevlar would do much against wolf teeth or being torn in half.” Han joked. While he was aware that there would be a potentially negativel reaction from his would-be father-in-law, he didn’t seem too concerned. After all, what was done was done and a baby would be born in just a few months either way you looked at it.

Despite Romulus’s onlooking, Han cupped Ava’s fave between his hands and placed a kiss to her forehead.

“Let’s go in and do this thing.” He said.

Ava pushed open the creaky screen door with her foot and let it swing shut behind them.

“Dad, he’s here!” Ava called even though Romulus seen them. “Is dinner almost ready?” She asked, stepping around the corner into the kitchen.

“It’s ready, but I don’t know how hungry Han could be when he was just trying to eat your face.” Romulus said as turned to face Han and Ava as they entered.

“Sorry about that, Mister Navares. I didn’t mean to ruin my appetite.” Han joked, which earned an annoyed look from Romulus.

“Dad, quit it.” Ava swat at her Dad, scolding him.

“Who doesn’t have an appetite?” Remedy asked, coming bounding down the stairs; skipping steps with her long legs. Her hair was wet and slicked back, wet still from her shower.

Remedy wasn’t so sweet on Han, she did appreciate the consistency as Ava was known for going through lovers. But of course didn’t support the sneaking in and out, which made her less inclined to be friendly with Han. But she didn’t hate Han, or even really dislike him.

"Han is busy as always trying to suck the lips clean off Ava's face." Romulus gave a stiff-jawed expression, which was indication of him trying to be nice due to Ava's scolding swats but failing.

“Hm, rich coming from someone who has probably literally ate someone’s face.” Remedy teased cheekily, brushing past Romulus and kissing his cheek in passing.

“I already set the table.” Ava said, as Remedy reached the cupboard.

It wasn’t anything fancy, nothing at their house really was. But Ava had put out the appropriate number of plates and silverware, even filled some water cups for everyone.

“Oh well, then we’re ready, right Roms?” Remedy asked.

“I suppose we are.” Romulus huffed, lips pursed at his wife’s jab. He gestured for the table where a roasted chicken and plate of honey glazed carrots and buttery potatoes waited for them. He paused in the kitchen for a moment to grab a bowl of rolls with a towel placed over top of them to keep them warm from the counter.

Han walked over for Ava and pulled out the chair for her.

Ava uttered a ‘thank you,’ before sitting down and patting the chair next to her, gesturing for Han to sit next to her.

Remedy messed Romulus’s hair affectionately in passing before pulling out her own chair.

“The table feels empty without your brothers. It hasn’t been just the three of us in awhile, well, three plus Han.” Remedy said.

“I appreciate you letting me join the table tonight.” Han grinned as he sat down beside Ava. “It all looks great, Mister Navares.” He tried to suck up as he tilted his head back, trying to catch Romulus’s gaze in hopes of getting approval as he brushed by.

“Mm, thanks.” Romulus uttered as he set the rolls down and perched beside his wife at the table. “Serve yourselves. There’s plenty, obviously.”

Han hardly hesitated as he grabbed up Ava’s plate and started stacking it up for her.

“Gimme another roll, please.” Ava smiled as she watched Han fill her plate for her. She was always a good eater, but of course she was eating for two now and there was no holding her back. “Do we have anything for dessert?” She asked.

“I made an orange cake this afternoon.” Romulus said, eying the full plate Han had built for Ava. “Are you going to have room for it? That’s a pretty full plate.” He said.
