Adrik blinked, taking in what Asha was saying for a second before giving a little chuckle.

“I mean...I honestly thought it was already kind of insinuated.” He admitted. “Or at least I had hoped it was.”

“Well, now it’s for sure. Dummy.” Asha chuckled a little herself before giving another quick peck. “I’ll let my team know my boyfriend might stop by.” She added before standing up and smoothing out her dress.

“Mm, tell them that your boyfriend will be the one with flowers and some new earrings for you.” Adrik chuckled, stretching for Asha then. He tugged lightly at the hem of the skirt, trying to coax her back to him.

“You can certainly use me as an excuse. Today, tomorrow, everyday, whenever.” Adrik chuckled, his hands finding her hips and pressing her down and closer to him.

"That's okay. I'm in trouble all the time. I'll teach you how to deal." Adrik teased as he stretched for a kiss.

It'd been a few months since that wretched New Years Eve party and though it felt impossible at first, life went on for Sophie. She had admittedly been a little more than cross with Adrik, after all, he had left her to her own devices in the middle of a shootout and apparently couldn't even be bothered to come check on her himself when the dust had settled. His actions left her angry and wounded and she didn't see any other option for them other than for her to leave him because it was apparent to her that he didn't care for her the same way she cared for him.

But it had still hurt, so much so she was a little resentful that she was left with the task of going to interview the very girl who had "whisked him away" in a manner of speaking that night. Sophie tried not to hold it against Asha, after all, it wasn't her fault that she'd gotten hurt and it certainly wasn't as if they both used that as an opportunity to get cozy with one another.

Right?

She rode up the elevator to one of the topmost floors of the building where Asha was doing her latest shoot. If Sophie recalled, it was some sort of ad for perfume. While she rode up, she tried to compose herself for the sake of keeping it professional.

Asha was getting primped (again), she was wearing an expensive robe while she sat in a chair getting her hair and makeup done; idly playing on her phone, texting Adrik. Her stylist had informed her the interviewer was being sent up and the shoot would begin after the interview was complete, so she expected there to be some overlap with Adrik arriving.

Sophie hopped off the elevator and after showing a man working security at the shoot her credentials, she was directed to a corner that had been set up as a hair and make-up station. As she approached, she could see Asha's back to her.

"Asha?" She said.

The voice and the scent was of course familiar, it just had to be Sophie. She tried to feign a smile as she turned around.

“Sophie? They didn’t tell me you’d be interviewing. Someone grab her a chair!” Asha instructed, trying to both inconspicuous and polite.

"It was a little last minute. Angelique had a family emergency and had to fly home. No one else could cover for her, so...here I am." Sophie feigned her own smile as she went ahead and took a seat as Asha instructed.

“Well, I won’t keep you. Let’s try to get this over with and you on your way.” Asha said, trying to be charismatic. “What are we talking about today?”

"Oh, just the usual." Sophie bobbed her head, just as keen to get her work done and out of there. She reached into her purse and grabbed her recording device as well as a little notebook and pen. She turned on the recorder and set it on the makeup table. "So, how has life been lately? Any new exciting projects you can discuss?"

“My life has been good, I’m doing well; happy, but also always trying to be happier.” Asha said, a quote stolen from Adrik. “I just signed with the new Livari label, they’re a line focused on zero waste clothing. I’m really excited about them, especially given one of the designers are a founder of the women’s march. Not to mention they have great range, everyday wear to evening gowns; I’m really happy to be on their label.” Asha explained. [/i]

The quote didn't go totally unnoticed, it was, after all, a very Adrik thing to say, he said similar things often. But Sophie opted not to dwell on it. Before New Years, Asha and Adrik had apparently not seen each other in years, she was doubtful that changed after one meeting.

"I've heard of them. They're definitely a company to admire. They'll be lucky to have you as part of their label." Sophie gave a little smile. "What about personal projects? Anything you've done outside of work? What have you been doing in your free time?"

Then, almost as if on queue, free time as it were, had sent a text to Asha's phone, making it rattle on the table.
