"A baby shower?" Emerson cocked a brow. He didn't have any cousins as both of his parents were only children and his mother was so focused on him as a child that she didn't seem to make other friends who could have children, so he'd never been to one, let alone had even the vaguest idea what a baby shower was.

"Yeah, like, a party to celebrate being pregnant? And people come and bring gifts, eat food, play games." Grey shrugged. She'd been to a few, her family was decently big, most kids were adopted but her distant cousins and aunts and uncles would still have showers to welcome the new babe.

"Oh....well, yeah, we could do that, definitely. It sounds like fun." Emerson nodded, simply pleased that they were finally getting to do something potentially....well, pleasant, for themselves and for their baby. He reached out to place his hands at her waist, a hand drifting to fondle at her little bump. "We can invite Irving, your family, even Shika and Wyla if he gets back in time." He said, still not bringing up either set of parents. Emerson had been firm in the way he decided he wouldn't speak to his parents until they got an apology.

Grey smiled, placing her hands over top of his. "Great. We'll keep it small then? Do you just want to do it this weekend then, since it's just a few people?" She asked.

Emerson gave a slight frown and shook his head. He gave Grey's little belly a light pat before pulling his hand away to sign.

"No, they don't have to come. I want everyone to be happy and I don't want you and baby to stress out." He insisted.

Grey furrowed her brows before signing back. "I know that my parents will come around eventually, they're in the back of my mind right now. But, your parents are your parents. That's one set of grandparents to our baby, and as long as you want them around, I want them around too."

She knew Emerson was coming from a good place, and she was happy she had his support. But it was hard to be happy about those things, when it was at the expense of her partners happiness.

Grey pursed her lips, she knew for a fact, that all Emerson wanted was for everyone to be happy and pleasant about the pregnancy. Would be hard to achieve, if some people weren't around at all.

"You'll let me know though when you change your mind?" She asked.
