"No, you just being home is enough." Astrid smiled before patting the mattress on Remus's side, indicating for him to join her.

Remus smiled, complying as he eased forward and onto the mattress, maneuvering Lucita gently onto his chest.

Lucita was apparently out cold now as she didn't even stir as Remus handled her, shifting her this way and that way until they both settled.

Astrid smiled and nestled in close to Remus, reaching to gently smooth out some of Lucita's fluffy, dark mop at the very top of her head.

"You're such a good dad, Remus." She complimented as she watched their sweet babe. She looked up from under soft lashes to Remus's face and maintained her soft smile. "And a good boyfriend."

"Hardly, but still, you make it seem easy, so, thank you." Astrid laughed a little, reaching then to rest her hand on top of his. Her fingers gently ran over his fingers and she imagined for a moment what it would feel like to run them over a wedding band.

She paused then for a moment.

For the better part of their relationship, at least in the beginning, Remus and Astrid simply focused on enjoying one another in the then and now. They never really talked about things in the future, at least not until Lucita happened, but even then, they hadn't talked about the future of their relationship beyond the context of sharing a child together. Not once could Astrid recollect ever talking about marriage.

"Hey, Remus, can I ask you a question?" She peaked up at him.

Remus paused thoughtfully.

“I mean, I kind of thought we were married.” He answered quietly.

Astrid blinked, surprised but at the same time...not really.

“Oh... I mean, we aren’t, technically speaking, but...you think of me as your wife still?” She asked, smiling softly at the thought.

“Well of course,” Remus answered in that matter of fact sort of way he answered most things. “We share a home, you’re the mother of our child, I love you so much Astrid. I feel very much that you’re already my wife.” He explained earnestly.

Remus's earnest answers always made Astrid giggle, not in a mocking way of course, but in the way he always just genuinely had the right answer. He was always so honest and sweet, though some would surely argue it was more naive than anything, but Astrid didn't see it that way.

"I love you, too." She smiled up at him, her hand still on his. "Maybe we should make it official then, hm? For everyone else at least. My grandparents will have a cow if I'm an 'unwed' mother." She teased, though there was certainly some truth to it.

“I do not know what that means,” Remus laughed quietly so to not wake Lucita. “But you tell me what I need to do and I will do it.”

“Mm, well, we’ll need rings. We can pick them out together. Then we’ll need to plan the actual wedding. It’s just a celebration for us and any friends and family. Some people have big parties, but we don’t have to do anything over the top.” Astrid nodded, smiling. “Mama and my dad will help us figure out the other technical parts, but at least at face value, that’s all we need.”

“We can go look at rings my next day off.” Remus offered. “Where do we go to look?” He asked then, with a nervous chuckle.
