| “You know why? Kinda burying the lead, don’t you think?” Ace sort of teased with a chuckle. But he folded his arms across his chest and leaned against the counter and gave her his full attention. |

“Just keeping you on your toes.” Darla laughed as she brought the cup to her lips. She took a sip before reaching into her pocket and pulling out the pregnancy test she tucked away previously. She held it out to Ace, palm side down to hide it from his immediate view.

Ace looked at her with some hesitance. He recognized right away of course that it was a pregnancy test, and while they hadn’t been actively trying; well he could put together what was happening.
“Get out,” He chuckled, patting the top of her hand to reveal the palm. |

Darla smiled as Ace's own face lit up and she turned her palm over to show the positive test.
"This is only the first one I've taken, so I still need to go get checked out to confirm it, but if the sickness I've had is any indication...we're having a baby." She giggled.

Ace’s face expanded into a wider smile, he closed the space between them to embrace Darla. He wrapped his arms gently around her waist before picking her up, laughing into her shoulder.
“I’m so happy.” He exclaimed but not too loud this time, trying to contain himself to the best of his ability. “I’m sorry I didn’t bring bigger flowers and more chocolate; I didn’t know I was shopping for two.” He joked. |

“That’s okay, you can make it up to us by ordering us dinner.” Darla laughed as she wrapped her arms around Ace’s neck. She smiled as she stretched to kiss the side of his face, clearly pleased with his reaction and mirth.
