(I'm sorry but I don't recall the spelling of Seamus, so I'm going with the spelling of that kid from Harry Potter for now).

Some time had passed since Cardinals miscarriage and she was doing alright, her best for sure. She had been feeling weepy and emotional at times, but was still generally in a good way as time went on. Of course she was grateful for Seamus and his endless patience with her. They had plans to meet up in town for dinner later, which she was looking forward too. She was out and about on her own currently, doing some self-care shopping, hitting up a few bookstores and the skate shop since her board was needing new bearings. She hefted a couple brown paper bags in her arms as she walked down the pavement, headed toward Seamus and hers decided meeting point.

One of Seamus's teammates, Martin, was ambling around downtown with his girlfriend when he happened to see his friend's girlfriend struggling with a few bags. He nudged at his girlfriend and pointed to Cardinal, as if to say he was going over, before he headed over to her.

"Hey, Cardinal, do you need help?" He asked as he approached, hands already stretched out to accept any bags.

"Oh hey, Martin!" Carindal greeted gleefully. A lot had changed since high school, besides her looks, how she interacted with foot players was very different. In high school it was a lot of bullying, but in college and thanks to Seamus of course, she was really good friends with most of his teammates. "It's good to see you, um, I can probably make it but I'm meeting Seamus if you maybe want to carry a bag until he can take over?" She compromised.

"'Course! Where's he meeting you? Hopefully he isn't making you walk super far." Martin said, taking up a bag. "I'll be back, Gilly!" He called over his shoulder, though, his girlfriend waved him off and went back to looking at a top hanging on an outside rack almost immediately.

"We're just meeting outside of Raymond's down the street. Sorry for pulling you from Gilly." Cardinal said, passing off a bag to him.

"It's fine, don't even worry about it. She hardly wanted me there anyway, she just wanted to go shopping for herself on my dime." Martin chuckled before gesturing for Cardinal to lead the way. "So Raymond's for dinner? What's the occassion?" Martin asked.

"We're actually just meeting there as like a half way point between our errands." Cardinal laughed. "We're grabbing a cab from there, I can't remember the name but there's this new place that opened down town Seamus wanted to try. No occasion, just hanging out." Cardinal shrugged then.

"Maybe, I don't know what we're celebrating." Cardinal laughed, making a raspberry with her mouth.

"Mm, I thought maybe you guys would go out or whatever after Seamus talked to that scout or whatever. I mean... the NFL? That's huge." Martin said with a nod as they chugged along.

Cardinal immediately paused, her expression changed. Scout? NFL? He hasn't said anything about, well, anything like that. Why wouldn't he tell her? That's huge news and it's exciting. But, she wasn't one to air her laundry in front of their friends, and she didn't out right want to assume the worst.

"When did he hear, Martin? We've both been so busy lately, totally different schedules...Was it pretty recently?" She asked.

"Mm, maybe two weeks? Three?" Martin hummed thoughtfully as he tried to recollect.

Three weeks? Cardinal exclaimed inside herself. The opposite schedules thing was a lie, but she thought had he known in the last couple of days that maybe it was just too busy. Or maybe he wanted to surprise her with the news? She was pretty surprised now, but not in a good way.

"Ah well, hopefully you guys won't miss him too much after he's gone, huh?" Cardinal did her best to feign a laugh and play it cool.

"Oh, we will. I mean, what're we gonna do without our Brick House?" Martin chuckled, glancing up and giving a little wave when he saw Seamus standing outside Raymond's up ahead.

Seamus was as big and bulky as ever, towering over the ebb and flow of customers heading into Raymond's nearby. He also looked about as stoic as he always had, though, he did smile when he saw Cardinal approaching. He headed over to the twosome.

"You didn't tell me you were bringing Martin. Am I your third wheel?" He joked.

"Oh, no, just you two. Gilly would kill me if I ate without her again." Martin chuckled as he forked up the bag to Seamus. "Enjoy, guys. See you at practice on Monday, Seamus."

Seamus gave a little wave as Martin took his leave and he looked down at Cardinal, an oblivious smile on his face as he stooped down to peck at her cheek.

Cardinal smiled somewhat when Seamus bent down to kiss her, but her brows furrowed as he pulled away. Feeling a little complex about what she had just heard and what she was feeling.
