“Hm I like historical dramas, mysteries too. Ariel is a big fan of Agatha Christie. I liked Guliver’s Travels when Ariel read it to me.” Priya explained.

They were coming up on the camp now. Priya could see the lights flashing from patrol cars. They were probably looking for the faerie who caused so much trouble. She paused, looking at the block, all sectioned off from people though there were plenty of curious on lookers.

Il Soon made a face at the scene and promptly reached for Priya’s arm, giving it a gentle tug to turn her around.

“It’s not safe to go back right now.” He said, although he was sure she could see that for herself.

Priya intertwined her fingers with his and lead them through the crowds of people. There were two Society officers at the opening of the camp, uttering things into walkie talkies, Priya could see past them that were were more officers interviewing different faeries and taking statements. She could even see her brother Ariel outside of his tent, being interrogated.

Priya walked up to the officers.

“Excuse me, what’s going on? Can I go in? I live at this camp.” Priya began.

One officer who has horns, looked down at the two.

“There was an incident earlier this evening involving a fae that we’re investigating. Miss, where is your binder?” He asked noting and pointing at her wings as they stuck out from the bottom of her jacket.

“Oh I forgot it.” Priya shrugged innocently. “I left with it on, but left it at my boyfriends house. It didn’t make sense to go all the way back for it.” Priya nodded.

“Would this young man be your boyfriend?” He asked, pointing at Il Soon.

Without needing further prompting, Il Soon bobbed his head at the officer’s question.

“Yes sir. I didn’t want to keep her out too long, I just told her to leave it and I’d bring it by tomorrow for her.” He explained.

“And your name is?” He asked, pulling out a notepad and paper.

“I’m Priya, this is Il Soon Park.” She answered, remembering his full name.

The officer looking up then.

“Il Soon Park?” He asked for confirmation.

“Mm, that’s correct. I’m happy to show you my identification.” Il Soon said, geturing to the wallet in his back pocket.

“That won’t be necessary.” The officer waved off the notion. “Can you please tell me where you both were at 8:30 pm this evening?” He asked.

“Just at his house.” Priya nodded.

“That’s right. I got off early tonight, so we’ve just been hanging out at my apartment.” Il Soon explained. “It started getting late and I wanted to make sure she got home safe so we headed back this way a little while ago. I didn’t want her brother to worry. Is it okay if we head in, officer?”

The officer felt suspect, but didn’t feel the need to pry further. Il Soon Park was a Society regular, he could be found again easily for further questioning.

“Go on in.” He agreed stepping aside.

“Thank you, sir.” Priya nodded, walking past with Il Soon in tow. Just as they made it a few paces in, Ariel had been released from his questioning and made a b line for his sister. Ariel didn’t particularly look like Priya besides both being darkly completed and ethnic looking. Ariel has dark skin and snowy white hair, styled in a similar fashion in the sense it was short in length but fluffy in texture. His eyes were big and a very light blue, and his cheeks were littered with sun kissed freckles. While Priya’s ears were concealed by her hair, Ariel’s were not, long and pointy; jetting out from his hair. Unlike Priya’s wings, that were reminiscent of hornets wings in design, his were big and blue; black along the edges and within the webbing; Americana Exotica wings.

He was much taller, Oona had remarked once that that Ariel’s dad was incredibly tall. He rushed toward them, blue and iridescent wings dragging behind him. He grabbed onto Priya’s shoulder and pulled her away from Il Soon.

“Where have you been?” He asked quickly before turning his attention to her companion. “And who is this?”

Priya wasn’t bothered by Ariel’s hysterics. He was always more sensitive than herself, he’d spent the better part of his time in the camp, numb in his tent; mourning everything that had happened.

“This is Il Soon, he’s my boyfriend.” Priya said, maintaining the lie. She knew Ariel would not be on board with her joining the Faction, or happy with her stunt at the park. It was better to maintain the facade for now.

“Boyfriend? Since when?” He asked.

“Since today. Surprise.” Il Soon answered, grinning, though he wasn’t sure if he should be doing that or not.
