Emerson made a mental note and set Saint Vincent aside for himself perhaps another day and went to put in drive. He went and sat down in front of the TV and scooted forward to the DVD player.
"I hope you don't mind captions on the screen for obvious reasons." Iriving said as he emerged from the kitchen with a bag of chips. Clearly, he was too impatient to wait for his brother's cooking to be done.

Emerson scooted away from the TV stand set up and made his way, via butt-scoot, to the couch. He grinned up at Grey as she perched herself on the couch, and then turned to Iriving, who flopped down on the other side. He then looked around briefly, furrowed his brow, and turned to Grey.
"Kisa?" He spelled out her name in question.

Emerson gave a thoughtful little headbob before signing back with a cheery smile, as per usual.
"There's always next time. I hope she gets all her practice in." He said.

"I'm making lasagna in the crock pot, it should be done soon. I hope you like it." Emerson grinned.
Irving looked over at Grey and shook his head before making sure Emerson was looking at him.
"He's an awful cook." He spoke and signed playfully.
Emerson made a sound and gave a chuckle before reaching over to punch at his younger brother's leg.

Emerson smiled and gave a proud nod. When he'd lived with his family, his mother did all the cooking as she was the typical Stepford sort of wife. So, when he'd moved out, he had zero skills in the kitchen, but a few cookbooks later and the upgrade to three pots, a pan, a crock pot, and several different knives, he was practically a next level chef.
"I like to cook, it's something I enjoy a lot." He signed.

"Oh that's cool, my parents had hired help in the kitchen so I haven't really started learning until recently." Grey explained.
In the Newman household there was a rotating door of staff, cooks, maids, and even nannies. |
