It didn't take long for the duo to reach the house. The store's proximity to their home was one of the main reasons Armand had eventually caved and gave his "approval" (not that it was entirely needed) for Natas's job. As they entered, Armand promptly let go of Natas's hand and began hurrying around the room, gathering things quickly and shoving them into a sack, leaving bloody fingerprints all over them.

"Get what you need, Natas, what you want. Try to pack light." He said, breathing heavy from the adrenaline.

Natas looked around the room anxiously, trying to decided what to bring. She grabbed a bag herself, stuffing a few clothes in from the trunk before moving to the kitchen. She didn't know how long they might be on foot, she could only assume they'd had to be off the grid. So she packed some food that would survive some of their journey. Examining their small home for anything else, unsure of their safety, she snatched a knife off the counter and stuffed it into her bag.

Armand shoved only what he deemed necessary in his bag before going over to the kitchenette to clean his arm of blood before even attempting to cover it up haphazardly with a dish towel. He raised the dish towel to his mouth and tore it apart using his teeth. He cursed to himself as he struggled along.

Natas paused, furrowing her brows as she rushed to her side.

"Stop, stop. Let me help." She scolded quietly, taking the cloth and tearing it was force. "When we're safe, we need to stop and clean this properly." She lectured under her breath as she wrapped it tightly around his arm.

"It's fine, this isn't the worst I've had." Armand said, watching Natas work with pursed lips. He reached up to cup at her face with his free hand again. "You're definitely not hurt, right?"

Natas furrowed her brows as she looked up at him, touching his hand.

"I am hurt only because you are hurt." She said, which was definitely one of the more affectionate things she had said to him.

"I'll be alright." Armand nodded, leaning forward then to press his forehead to hers. "So don't hurt." He added.

Natas wanted to argue, human Natas was a pretty big fan of general back talk. But in this moment she was very thankful that they escaped, that she wasn't harmed and that Armand made it out only with this one wound. She closed her eyes and let a deep exhale through her nose. She always felt safe with Armand, she relied on him in that way with ease. And of course she always appreciated the nice things he did for her, the lovely things he would say. But something felt different, something had been stirred in her. Armand literally, took a bullet for her, he came when she called; he always would and she knew that now.

In the past she had never minded physical or semi affection contact with Armand, but presently she felt so relieved by it. Their foreheads still touching, she moved her arms so they would wrap around his shoulders and she pressed her body close to his in an embrace.

Without much thought, three worlds fell out of her mouth.

"I love you." She said then, softly but with obvious sincerity.

Armand blinked, pleasantly surprised at the statement, especially given their situation currently. It had felt like he was starting over with Natas, in every sense of the word, so this admission of love...it was not only welcomed, but he'd keened for it almost every day.

"And I love you." He said back to her, brushing a thumb against her cheek. "I love you."

Natas smiled softly, Armand said things like that often but it was nice that she could finally reciprocate those feelings of love and adoration. She looked up at him, admiring his features and flushing slightly. Of course there was a sense of urgency to leave, to escape. But in the moment with her own lips parted slightly as she observed him, she only wanted to kiss him and it reflected in her gaze.

Armand could see it in Natas's eyes, the pleading for a kiss, for affection, and he couldn't find it in himself to deny her at least a small gesture as he tilted his head to catch her lips softly then.

Natas almost surprised at how soft the kiss and returned it with the same gentleness. However she continued with great passion, moving one of her hands to cup his cheek and hold him close.

Armand couldn't stop himself from reciprocating the passionate force behind the kiss. He pressed his lips firmer and even dared to press his body closer.

Natas gasped a little into the kiss but did not pull away. Whenever Armand pressed his body against her, she dared to raise a leg to wrap around his waist.

Armand let out a pleased grunt and placed a hand at Natas's leg, poising to heft her up to make their way over to the bed, however, he stopped when he could hear sirens in the distance. Someone had probably found the scene at the bookstore and it would only be a matter of time before the whole town was looking for Natas and him. He broke the kiss, though it pained him, and he looked to Natas.

"We should go." He told her.
