“Not with my parents, not if we can help it. Just back to town.” Seamus nodded. “I just figured I’m still adjusting and you’re supposed to be relaxing so it’d be nice to have my parents around.”

Cardinal was quiet a moment, not upset, just nodding along and pondering everything. "Well, I like it here. But it would be nice to be closer to family in case we needed anything...I think I'd be okay with that." She nodded.

“I understand. But if moving is something you didn’t want to do, we’d be fine too. I can manage.” Cardinal reassured. “But if that’s what you want to do, let’s do it. I can have my sister come and help pack us up.” She offered.

“I think our best option is to go home for now. Mom and Dad can help us out more that way, the last time I talked to him, Dad said he was dying to see you and your belly.” Seamus chuckled then. “I’ll call Alby, see if we can put Leon to work with the move too.” He nestled her closer.

Cardinal and Seamus had made the move back home in efforts to ease the stress of, well, everything on, well, everybody. Cardinals belly got bigger and bigger. Time had passed and she was about to due now, but overdue on a baby shower. Cardinal had mostly been stocking up on diapers and wipes herself and invested in a good car seat. But that was about it, Cardinal was definitely someone who tackled things as they came. Lazy or low maintenance, Starling was not here for it and had collaborated with the O’Rourke’s (sp?) to throw a baby shower for Cardinal and Seamus.

It was small enough but Cardinal was happy no matter how big or small the affair was. Of course her own parents weren’t present but Starling was there with bells and whistles on. She was wearing a tank top that just read, ‘Auntie,’ across the chest. Of course there was a onesie in a gift bag somewhere that said ‘my auntie is single,’ among other gifts. But for now, Starling made herself useful by bringing out plates of food to the table. Cardinal was busy in Seamus’s childhood room, sitting on the floor trying to stuff her body into anything. But no pants came up, no shirts went over her tummy, and she didn’t own any dresses.
